I'm pretty much a solo player (old guy with family, only friends into games are still playing WoW), I know I've got a fair amount of hours logged but probly 40-50% of that is AFK at this point (damn kids). I got lucky with a couple of decent drops and have managed to get my gear to pretty decent point, I can farm keys in mp6-7 with no hassle and xp/loot in mp1-2 is amazingly quick.
I have a few questions that I can't seem to find definitive answers to, though, perhaps you guys can help:
- I read a bit about Rend being the new hotness, so I grabbed a pretty good deal on a decent 55m Rend IK belt and dropped War Cry / Impunity. I just can't get into the playstyle though - every time I hit Rend, my toon just stops tearing around the screen. Is this just how it works? It seems counterintuitive to the whole WW playstyle. A while ago I was rocking the Merciless Assault/Furious Charge 2H build with a Skorn and Rend worked great with that, but I've gotten so used to sprint/ww that actually stopping to swing at anything just seems like a huge waste of time, apart from the occassional Bash.
- Speaking of Bash, looking at some high-end WW barbs, I'm seeing a lot of them dropping it for things like Frenzy, or in some cases, non-fury builders. What's the advantage to Frenzy, and how do you make WW work without a snap fury builder - especially if you drop both War Cry and Bash? I tried using the fury builder passive (forget its name) but it's too slow to help much.
- Gear stuff - Now that I have a LS belt, what's the general consensus on 2H WW with Skorn? Given my current gear, is it worth picking up a cheap Str skorn? Or should I sell my MH axe which seems to be worth quite a bit (one of the few items I'm wearing that was actually a drop) and grab a higher DPS MH w/ just crit and socket? Before I got the IK belt I was doing just fine with 5.5% LS, now it just seems like overkill. I'm also considering getting a high-roll Butcher's Sickle - the pull effect seems like it would be really nice dealing with runners, which is really my weak point with this build.
Other than that, any suggestions on improving my gear would be appreciated, a lot of it is just from sniping the AH while watching TV and probably not the most effective. My crit dmg is probably a bit low (395%) at this point.
The way I deal with things like singletons who tend to drain the time left on WotB is to just stand there and hit them while spamming sprint/into the fray. If you do this for the last 5% or so, it should set your timer back quite a bit. It means killing the pack a bit slower, but it gives you more time to sprint to the next pack, and you should end the pack at close to full fury.
I heard it from a reliable source who's cousin's sister's ex-husband does QA at Blizzard's secret Bangalore offices, that they changed the loot server algorithm. The new formula is: Math.Floor((Account Birthdate Year-1000)*0.1) + (Account Birthdate Month * Length of Subscription in months / 6).
Gonna test it out as soon as 1.05 goes live, but this comes from a VERY reliable source!
