Nothing new about 32 bit issues... Seems to happen on every ARPG or MMO I try. Path of Exile and Marvel Heroes are exactly the same.
Man I'd get rid of the problem by just getting a 64-bit OS, but I just don't wanna go through the trouble of re-downloading all my games. If I had a better ISP, this wouldn't even be an issue. But until then, I'm stuck with 32-bit OS
I've just quite literally an hour ago finished changing my Windows Vista 32-bit to Windows 7 64-bit Professional (A friend of mine gets a certain amount of free keys from his University degree course). Frankly, I've decided to just cut my losses and download everything I need again. I figure it'll be less of a headache in the long run. Losing all that por... I mean super important spreadsheets and stuff, is worth it.
Man I wish I had the possibility to upgrade to 64-bit right now. I used to have a student licenses too from when I was in college. But sadly, I think they expired sometime around August. My account is non-existent now. I gotta try to get in touch with some friends, and pray they can help me. But nice job, man. Hope you enjoy the beta!

Odd. I don't know what else to say other than to check that your drivers are up-to-date and the usual software level suspects (like turning off Anti-virus for a test, etc.). Hope the blues can help you. I know they generate log files that tell them a lot more.
No worries, man! Thanks a lot for helping us out. I'm pretty convinced it has to be the memory instabilities the client is causing on 32-bit systems. So we'll have patiently wait until Blizzard addresses the problem, or upgrade to 64-bit. I'll probably try to upgrade tomorrow if there are no news from the blues. Again, thanks!

The thing about the crashes, is that they're inconsistent. Sometimes, the game crashes while I'm killing a large group of mobs. Other times, right after killing a huge group, just by walking in town or in a dungeon. At first, I suffered most of the crashes while playing a Crusader. Just by taking a waypoint, and walking, it would crash. I also decided to take time of when I entered a game, and when it crashed. The most I've been able to go is 15 minutes, but the average crash happens one or 2 minutes. I'm sure by standing idle in town, the game will not crash. I haven't tried, but will give it a shot ASAP.

I never experienced crashes in the beta before the D3 release, or my time playing it. The specs have always been the same. So right now, I know you're definitely right. Numbers are craaazy and I'm sure that's what causing most of my crashes. And with everything that's happening to me and TommyDe, I guess we can say we're doing a good job on the test.

The theory is that the crashes are caused by the 32-bit OS, not being able to handle memory properly. Now it's just up to Blizzard to address us. Will there be a patch adding better stability for 32-bit OS, or do we just have to upgrade? Time to wait patiently.

Same here man! Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit. After 5-20 minutes of gameplay PTR client freezes for a second, then crashes. I've posted a question in a blue-tagged topic on the official forums regarding the frequent crashes but I haven't recieved an answer to date.
Let's hope we can get a savior!

Sounds like a numbers problem. Numbers are getting bigger and one of the reasons people moved to 64-bit is that the numbers and calculations can be bigger and faster, plus more RAM for holding more temporary values used in calculations. I would suggest you monitor your RAM usage (you can do this by opening the task manager and clicking on the "Performance" tab). My bet is that you're maxing out your RAM. Therefore, there isn't any room to hold values the game generates so it hangs (no values... program can't know what to do) and eventually crashes when the program times out.

Can't have more than 3.25 GBs of RAM on 32-bit hardware :( If you are maxing out your RAM, I suggest shutting down unused programs while playing to free up as much as possible. You may also need to revert back to Windows XP (which uses significantly less RAM than Vista/7/8). If you have the 32-bit max of 3.25 gb of RAM, you're maxing your RAM usage during play after you stop all non-critical processes and you can't go back to XP... go forward. Time to upgrade to 64-bit and bring your PC into this century.
Thanks for the reply, friend. I'm running 3GB of RAM at the moment, due to an old RAM card dying some months ago and bringing me down from 4. But in the end, I was still running 3GB due to having a 32-bit OS. I decided to give RoS another shot with the Task Manager opened and closing most of everything else. While logging in, memory usage was 1GB, so 33%. While in game, memory usage stayed around 66%. It stayed around 2GB's, slightly going up and down until the game crashed.

The reason I've held on upgrading is because of my net. Re-downloading all of my games would just kill me! The pain of sharing network. But if by tomorrow I don't see any blue post about a fix, or even any blue post regarding the error, then I'll have to cut my losses, and upgrade.

I did, but it seems to be something that isn't getting much attention. It should be addressed sometime soon, but just a fair warning to anyone else who might be running into these problems, and can't find the answers.

    Hello there, forum.

I recently received a RoS beta invite like many other people. Problem is, my game crashes wayyy too frequent.
Apparently, this is caused by 32-bit OS either Windows, or Mac. Now I've asked multiple people if they've also been getting crashes, but everyone is on a 64-bit OS.

The reason I come here is to see who else is playing the RoS Beta/PTR on a 32-bit OS, and also suffers from random crashes.
They are not disconnects that could be caused by the load test. The game stutters and sometimes freezes at first. It will do this a few times until having one last freeze, game closing and getting an error window, and right back to the Battle.net App.

If this is not the place to come with this issue, I sincerely apologize. I just felt the need to know who else is suffering from this, and see if it's a real serious issue that can be addressed by Blizzard.

Thank you for your time, people.
