BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD
GAMEPLAY:
When you encounter enemies apply Decrepify to as many enemies as possible, this will apply a 70% slow to them and reduce their damage by 30%, it will also apply the 50% Damage Reduction from Dayntee's Binding and apply the 100% Damage Bonus of your Krisbin's Sentence, the more enemies you curse the more 1% Increased Damage stacks you get from the Spreading Malediction passive.
Then use Bone Armour to get 10 Stacks giving you 30% Damage Reduction and triggering the 300% bonus damage on your Skeletal Mages. Next start casting Skeletal Mages, you will cast 2 at a time from your Circle Of Naliuj's Evol to get 10 and using life to cast them will give you 3300% Bonus Damage from your Trag'Oul's Avatar 6 Piece Bonus.
Then use Command Skeleton to focus a target which will trigger the 400% Damage Bonus from Jesseth's Arms set and Freeze the enemy giving you the full 300% Damage Bonus from Krisbin's Sentence.
Once you start killing enemies you will create corpses, Devour these to regen Essence and Life and create Health Globes from your Life From Death Passive for you and your team and when you are max health you will start getting up to 100 stacks of your Trag'Oul's Avatar 4 set which gives you 1% Total Life per stack, doubling your healthpool..
Then use Blood Siphon on the main target to pull in all Health Globes which will trigger your Reapers Wraps and give you more essence, also triggering your Blood For Blood passive making your next spell cost no life. Channelling this will mean you are standing still also giving your 100% Bonus Damage from the Endless Walk Set
Keep casting Decrepify and Skeletal Mages whilst channelling Blood Siphon to maximise the amount of Dizzying Curse stuns to give you more bonus damage against crowd controlled enemies. Maintain your Bone Armour Stacks
Tips:
- Kill every enemy you see in your rift, you thrive from corpses and your Command Skeleton will refocus a target and Freeze them on death making your Skeletal Mages clear rooms.
- Maintain your Bone Armour Stacks at 10, your Skeletal Mages at 10, your 4 piece Trag'Oul's Avatar set at 100 and always make sure Command Skeleton border is highlighted and active.
- You can numlock trick Devour to keep it always auto casting (Hold Numlock and the key then release, or F7 and the keybind on Mac)
- Stay at a distance and always keep casting Decrepify whilst channelling, it will control all enemies and greatly reduce the chance of you being oneshot.
- Skip Juggernaut affix Elite Packs. None of your bonus damage vs Crowd Control will work on them and it will make your life hell.
- I Reccomend choosing the Enchantress follower for solo, she has 3 CC's which all proc your Bonus Damage.
Strengths:
- High Single Target Damage
- High Crowd Control
- Globe Generating Machine for your team making you a sort of Hybrid Dps/Support.
- Active playstyle making it high Apm and keeps you focused.
- High Toughness compared to other Necromancer sets.
Weaknesses:
- You lose your Bone Armour, 4 Set Total Life and Minions on death, making it tough to restart in the middle of a fight, try not to die.
- Reliant on corpses to continue fighting, can struggle verses a single enemy without Blood Siphon.
- Low Mobility unless Blood Rush variant.
- Reliant on Crowd Control for Damage
Alternative build setups:
- You can drop the Endless Walk set for Lornelle's Sunstone and Wisdom Of kalahn for an incredibly high Toughness build.
- You can drop Reapers Wraps for Ancient Parthan Defender's if you require more Survival.
- You Can Replace Esoteric Alteration for either Zei's Stone Of Vengeance or Bane Of The Stricken and Dayntee's Binding for The Witching Hour for
- more of a Glass Cannon build.
- You can replace Blood Siphon for Blood Rush for a faster high mobility build for farming.
- Simulacrum Variant : http://www.diablofans.com/builds/91705-gr-85-simulacrum-for-the-blood-god
Theorycrafting:
Skeletal Mage Damage Multipliers 400% Weapon damage x 3300% From Trag'Oul's Avatar 6 Piece Bonus, 300% from Scythe Of The Cycle, 400% From Jesseth's Arms 2 Piece Bonus, 100-300% from Krysbin's Sentence, 100% from the Endless Walk set 1% Per Stack of the Spreading Malediction Passive , 30-50% + from Enforcer, 30-50% + from Bane Of The Trapped 1% Bonus Damage
If you would like to talk or Theorycraft in game and run anything together feel free to message me over at Wreckanoth#2396
I also changed blood rush to siphon and i changed everything, without it couldnt get past 65gr and today i did 78 GR with this and my gear isnt that impressive, goot fun build, could do 80 no problem if i could get the mages attack same target, wish they would obey command skeleton aswell :/
Try it with esoteric as publisher mentioned above - Ive been running that as I felt squishy as well was coming to suggest it but someone already had - also if you have got survival issues make sure you are picking up those globes and spamming blood rush on cooldown for essence and armor buff
I get about 1.8-1.9 doing GR 77 (Not stuck here its just where I stopped) as Wreckanoth said its very active in its gameplay so you have to be on the ball with positioning, theres a reason its not the meta build - and its because its not the easiest to play but instead the more fun.
By the looks of it people are running with Kalan ammy on them not cubed with another ring for toughness, Im going to try the % life missing ring and unity tonight to test.
I suspect its best to have Kysbins in cube as it will make sure the % is high (I could be wrong here)
I ran into that a few times last night - swapping from spamming mages was a bit of a change to get use to, also blood rushing and devouring the corpses that blood rush drops when you are low on essence seemed to help ALOT when you are starved - you dont always need 10 up to kill everything.

Paragon 700, GR 77(climbing easy enough), Gear isnt optimized roughly lvl 60 gems for eso trapped and enforcer
The build is fun to play but unfortunately feels to squishy in higher rifts... even starting at like GR80 you basically get oneshot if you are not careful Anyone has a solution for that... ?
I noticed it help a ton if you replace endless walk with the unity ring with the wisdom of kalan. it makes it so much easier to survive.
Anyone know if the root from Decrepify's enfeeblement rune procs the x3 damage from Krysbins? If so, would be better than the 10% chance of dizzy rune.
Love this build, thanks for sharing!
Your recent changes make this build much more stable as far as essence, but thank god for n-key rollover on the keyboard!
Bigdaddyden76 is playing and promoting this build on Twitch. Looks amazing, I'm gearing it up right now
For another variation, I run this with the Devour aura rune, get items with increased globe/gold radius. I find it to run smoother, don't have to worry about clicking on devour. At around level 83, having problems with no essence at Rift guardian, sometimes no essence to call mages and can't open doors. Will switch Blood Rush for Siphon Blood, see if it helps.
So after a good bit of trial and error and testing, I have been able to hit GR95 with a few tweaks, but I can't seem to push beyond that at this point. Any how for this interested, this is what I'm doing differently
Wisdom of Kalan + Lornelle's Sunstone Equipped
Dropped Tasker and Theo for Reqeuim Cereplate in Cube, this allows me to run APD's and still manage resource efficiently while still remaining tanky, The lower your health, the tougher you get which allows mage spam in hectic situations without the fear of dying.
Passive switch Life from Death for Grisly Tribute so your minions will help keep you up as well, this is more effective when running APD's instead of Reapers.
Hope this helps people
This is a solid and more importantly, fun build.
I was able to do GR 80 no problem the second day of playing necro with mediocre at best rolls on all the gear at 800 paragon. This is the build that i like the most as a farming option until you get into inarius.
the only con of the build is if you happen to stall out of essence somehow, you get sort of locked in a spot where you have no mages out, and cant kill anything for more corpses and globes to fuel the blood machine. Once you learn how to play it though, its not a problem at all to keep 10 mages out the entire rift and everything just dies with little effort. The speed that this build murders rift guardians is the best part, they just instantly drop.
2274, You need to bulk into INT to sustain your DPS output, Vit will come from Stats + Gems
I should mention I was lucky enough to get Primal drops for my Scythe and Phylactery, so that is SUPER helpful as well.
shit this looks cool..
i tried this build even though i still don't have all the set pieces.....but this is so fun already ...i think i m gonna stick with it for a while..thanks
Great job on the build - been using it and really enjoying myself.
My question concerns the loss of Blood Rush in this iteration and the continued use of the Endless Walk set. Blood Rush allowed you to keep movement to a minimum (so that you keep the 100% Endless Walk offensive buff), but without Blood Rush how do you keep that buff up? Seems like it would always be at 50% damage reduction because you'd be moving so much. How do you balance these two?
I haven't messed around enough with Blood Siphon to notice the difference, but like many others I did notice instances where I would run out of essence and be unable to kill things to get my globes, so I was wondering if Siphon might not be a good addition here.
Finally - any speed farming variants for regular rifting? I've been thinking about running Goldwrap + Boon of Hoarder + Avarice Band with Aura runes on Devour and then swapping Decrepify for Frailty with the aura rune (eventually the auras should provide scree-wide coverage + huge armour buff). Then swap Esoteric for Bane of Powerful? Any other changes you think would be good?
Thanks again!
I have tried that and it works well in T13 speed runs.
Avarice + Kalan instead of endless walk set.
Goldwrap for belt.
Boon of Hoarder, enforcer and bane of Trapped.
Devouring aura, Frailty aura instead of Decrepify. Blood Rush instead of Siphon.
In geom in cube for instant blood rush reset.
Autocast on command skeleton (be wary of maps with lots of doors and gates though).
Dash between elite packs and keep mages and bone armor up.
Wreckanoth has put in a ton of effort, and so have alot of people in this discussion to help other people - and we arnt having any issues getting 80+
