I'm lvl56/57 Monk and finishing the 2nd ACT in Hell. How does LoH work on the 2nd weapon? I've got 2.5 attack speed and 460 LoH; my life is 15k and my armor is 3.2k (without shield, of course). I want to try dual wielding for a while since I find I have lots of defense and want to speed up my kill speed ... and figured that a boost in LoH might offset defense, except for the really slamming bosses.
yeah it can, went dual wielding from the beginning up to inferno act1 as barb... might also work for inferno but insane gear requirements
basically the loh from the second weapon also adds to your total...but for champion packs a good amount of damage is neccessary if you have no resitance...you need to burn 1 or 2 down very fast otherwise dmg incoming is to high
Yup, the LoH from the 2nd weapon and the first weapon add together and are gained on all hits. So Weapon 1 has +250 LoH, weapon 2 has +400 LoH, every hit gives you 650 life.
Seems to be a viable way to progress if you don't want to go the Shield Route. You take more damage, but attack faster (15% bump to speed for dual wielding) and heal more on hits (weapons are far and away the largest source of Life on Hit you can find). I have a friend who has far less armor, far less resistance and less DPS than I, however, he's dual wielding and has almost 1700 Life on Hit total and is progressing a lot faster than me. He says he has to keep attacking non-stop though, if he isn't punching, he's dying.
People are making it much more complicated than it is for some reason. If you have 100 dex on one weapon and 150 dex on another weapon, do you think you only benefit from the 100 dex when you swing with the first weapon? LoH is a basic stat like any other. All stats from both weapons are added to your other stats, and the total stats are used to calculate the weapon swings.
I'm farming act 3 inferno on my monk dual wielding LoH weapons.
Both of them are around 850dps and has ~950 LoH each, giving insane amounts of healing. If you have the gear to support such weapons, go for it. It's really fun

Different playstyle, certainly doable.
