I hope this isn't in the wrong section of the forums.
I re-installed the game with my legit CD and CD-Key, I have no errors playing in single player but when I try to connect to Battle.net then a message comes saying "Unable to Identify Application Version" I got the last version of the patch installed, I've tested running in diffrent compabilities and run as Adminstrator, but still don't work. Its installed from CD and now from Blizzard's online store. It worked perfectly fine before i re-installed it. I've also tried connecting to diffrent realms but don't work still.
Can anyone help me with this please?
Thanks for your attention.
Yeah, I have this same issue, except I purchased a new digital copy of DII and LOD from Blizz store.
When I contacted Blizzard, they say I have a virus. So I run all the virus scanners known to man, and retry, same error. So then I load my computer to a backup about a month ago and rerun the scanners. Same error. I'm angry at this point, so I reformat my computer. I try to do the download from Bnet, and now I get "There was a problem authenticating your download. Please return to Battle.net to start a new download."
Blizz support is no help, and sticks to the story of a virus, even though I completely formatted the drives.
This was all a couple months ago when I thought patch 1.13 was soon to come out. So my money is wasted, on another copy of Diablo.
Edit: Okay, I just tried running as Admin, and it is now downloading!!! Man I hope this works!!!

Because my roommate had the same issue on his new computer, and we only did 'Run as Administrator' and it worked all right.
Maybe it isn't the real issue, but that's how we 'fixed' it...
If so, how do I revert to an older patch and still can acess Battle.net?
Yes, I'm using Vista. I've already tried running as Adminstrator but it still don't work.
Hm.. I'll try this later, thanks for all the help everyone, I appriciate it.
