alright so ive just recently re-downloaded D2 and LOD from the battle.net site.
changed the compatibility so it works in windows 7, Added the ports, fixed the firewall. Followed thru the battle.net help guide.( which some of the steps i cant even complete right for some reason).
ive talked with d2 support and they have no idea what the problem is.
when i try to connect i get this message.
UNABLE TO CONNECT TO BATTLE.NET.
if you are using a modem you may need to connect to your internet provider before connecting.

Where is D2 installed? If it is in the programs folder than that could be the issue since windows 7 likes to protect that folder. I would install the game directly to the c drive
I would check the anti-virus(security programs) to check that it is not blocking the game from internet.
