We don't really think it needs to. Your focus is still going to be seeking out champions and rares. If you want to get full stacks, kill a boss, and then try to rush to kill another boss before the buff falls off... have fun? It's not going to be the most lucrative way to play, so it's likely a non-issue hypothetical.
Somehow I think this hypothetical will quickly become quite real. I just hope they will fix it then.
easily, 1 then waypoint-jump close to second, and so on. If NVB is like 1h long then it may be actually possible with ubber gear. I really hope not but I would rather like buff to drop after boss kill. But then it would just change to - kill rareX5, then bossX1, rinse&repeat. With bosses having guaranteed to drop up to 5 extra rare like loot depending of number of NVB stacks it will be much more beneficial to do that instead of clearing the whole act.

You're forgetting the part where elites/champs have BETTER loot than end act bosses. This buff just makes the bosses a sort of perk/attractive option than only farming elites/champs. Keep in mind elites/champs will also be easier to kill than a boss.
This new system has quickly become one of the things I'm most excited about. I think it's going to be the perfect blend of hunting and killing mob packs and going after bosses. This will give you so much more incentive to get into a group and start combing each area. Hell, you could group up and go through the entire game with a full stack if the buff ends up being long enough and your group moves efficiently. I think it'll also help to put some of the QQing about shared MF to rest, since now players will at least be able to get some MF to contribute to the group overall.

i would choose my own religion and worship my own spirit, but if he ever preached to me i wouldn't want to hear it. i'd drop him, a forgotten god, languishing in shame; and then if i hit stormy seas, i'd have myself to blame.

So, whats the problem? If i killed 5 packs of champions and all 4 bosses in one seating.. im pretty sure ill be happy enough to call it a night since that would probably take a good 2 hours... D2 you basically only farm 2 bosses. Now they actually gave you meaning to farm 9 bosses.. which is huge.
They will tweak the buff duration so that you cannot just load up on NV buff and then boss-stomp as quickly as possible. You will not be able to load up on buff and quickly assail a bunch of a bosses in a row. This is easy as pie to fix via buff durations and the the quest/waypoint system.
One thing; If you want to re-kill a boss, at least in the beta, you will need to restart that specifik quest to get to him. Once you have restarted the quest, you loose all waypoints ahead of that point in the game.
Hence, it's impossible to just kill a boss, take waypoint to next boss, kill boss. You would have to log out, select the appropriate quest and get back in, hence loosing the buff.
If you just enter the game, having completed the quest, that boss is dead and won't return.
This is primilary the case because its .....the beta
Hopefully some of the boss battles will take 10-20 minutes to complete. So you wouldn't really be able to kill the champions for the buff, then go through and all the bosses before the buff drops. This is most likely going to be the case in inferno anyways because just clearing your way to the boss will be so challenging (we hope).

Playing a Wizard. Looking for Demon Hunters to play with.
As someone said earlier, this is not possible. You can't get the buff and then kill all 4 bosses. D3 has a quest system and because of this, you won't have the waypoints to act 4 if you start your game on a quest in Act 1. Also, if you start a quest in act 4, you can't go back and kill a boss in the previous acts because they're already dead.

There is no teleporting without a CD now, so jumping fast from boss to boss wont be that easy, you will probably meet quite a few champions/rares on your way to the next boss anyways, thier goal is to make people stay in the game and use one build, even if you decide to take down all the bosses in the game is will probably take a few hours anyways, which means Blizzard acompilshed what they wanted.
In Diablo 2 many would farm 1 boss, take mephisto for example, you teleported to him within 1-2 minutes, spend under a minute killing him, rinse/repeat.
In Diablo 3 you have no instant teleport, no map hack, even if you aim rushing through several floors for 1 boss it probably would be less beneficial then taking your time and killing stuff along the way, Bosses don't drop better loot then champions/rares even under buff, so skipping them along the way is kind of counter productive.

This isn't WoW, you will never see a 10-20 minute boss fight in my opinion.
Well, as seen in the Beta, you cannot just approach a boss and kill it at any given time, you need to do the quest or at least part of a quest, if we are talking about a new game. So you won't be able to quickly kill 4 bosses in a row, you can start at a quest close to 1 boss, then search 5 elites, then proceed to kill the boss.
After that, you are probably not very close to a new boss anymore and you need to do some more questing, until you find the next boss, or create a new game and select a quest just before a boss again, then find 5 elites again etc.
If this is so then it will be again all about boss runs. You just have to do pre boss quests killing some elites in the meantime and then boss. Not much better than D2.
To make this all viable they must let all elite killings stackable and not just last 5 so people want to clear the act and this buff could persist through boss kill. But MF buff should be almost logarithmic to give less and less MF for every new elite kill down to some minimum value like +1MF per elite kill. This would ensure worthiness of shorter and longer game-play sessions alike.
I would assume that you get one stack per champion pack and not per single champion... in the beta the champs come in groups of 4 (or 3 with one rare). You only get loot after killing all 4 champs or the rare in the group... thats why I think you only get the NV buff at the same time (i.e. after killing all 4 or the rare). So you need to find XY champ/rare groups to get you buff to the max stack.
And if you look at the beta again there are like 3-5 champ/rare packs in the final stage of the SK quest. So yeah... depending on the amount of stacks we can get it would mean that you have to clear the whole area before a boss to get your stack up. And that is exactly what they want.
Yes, I was talking about stacks. It does not change a thing that there will be like 5 stacks quite close to boss location anyway (maybe like 1/15 of the act or less to get to kill 5 stacks). This is far from clearing the area.

I wouldn't call SK a boss. I think we are all talking here about act bosses. But if all mini bosses like SK drops the same loot as act ones then blizzard idea may actually work as there aren't that many elite packs between each miniboss/boss.

Length of the buff is super important. It will be fun seeing ppl balancing their MF vs speed of killing to take into account that buff may expire before they kill enough elites cause they invested to much in MF gear. What's better +5MF gear or speed of killing, hmm, yummy choices

9 or 2 is same same comparing to clearing the act which blizzard wants us to do and what I want to do and I want it to be same beneficial as farming just bosses or more.

It's a non-issue.
They may just underestimate players and then it will become an issue. But maybe cause of RAHM they will have a huge incentive to quickly balance it again.

5 champion packs, 1 boss, next 5 champion packs, next 1 boss. Far from clearing the act. Unless minibosses drops same quality and amount of gear as act bosses when this could actually work but I don't think this is a case here.

It is not an issue because every stack increases you MF and GF. You will want to kill as many champs and rares with your max stack as possible. The boss is only the icing on the cake, and rushing towards them would not be optimal in terms of loot.
nope, blizzard already stated it will stack only up to 5 times, next elite kill will give you no increase to MF.

it does not solve problem of ppl not clearing the whole act (unless miniboses drops = act bosses drops)
