since a lot of you have quest ideas in other threads, i decided to make one thread specifically for acts/quest ideas only. put your ideas down here about your quests and the acts they'll go into, and what # quest they'll be (unless theyre side-quests like d1).
i think d3 will have 3 acts, 1 being earth, 2 heaven, and 3 is in hell. the quest will be at the end of act 1 in an asian-type region south of kurast (not visited in d2) called Kurume in the capital of Xiao-wei.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
story:
100 years after Tyrael destroyed the WS, its powers have almost completely faded and the denizens of heaven and hell are comming into the world, but with more demons than angels. news that hell is invading heaven has spread all across the world of sanctuary and brave warriors from every civilization have come to either help save humanity and the light from total destruction, or to help hell fulfill their dream of armageddon. with the help of an aid (decard cain? he might be dead finally.)
quest:
you have been told that in the region of Kurume the people have a temple that contains a special device that they use to send the bodies of their dead leaders into the heavens for their afterlife. this is actually [believed to be] a portal to heaven. however, the army of hell has taken over the temple and turned it into an outpost where they will use the portal to send legions to help with the invasion. the leader of the outpost is a powerful demon named Sasebo. you must kill Sasebo and his brigand to free the temple and prevent anymore incursions into heaven. once this is done, you must proceed through the portal into heaven to aid with the defence imediately.
rewards [?]:
- admittance to act 2
-Sesebo drops good items and lets you level up twice (act 2 will be much harder). in seperate rooms in the temple will be books that lets you learn new skills (like in d1) and chests containing good items as well.
-----------------------------------------------------------
i thought since people would like to see some asian-type playable chars, items, npc's, etc. i think it would be cool if blizzard added something kinda like my idea of Kurume. so go ahead and add your act and quest ideas!:cool:

sounds cool but in d2 lod we went to the paladin and barbarian homelands so not have acts where we go to the homelands of the sorcs, assassins, necros, and zons you know it would just finish it up...

You can tell the same lie a thousand times but it never gets any more true so close your eyes once more and once more believe that they all still believe in you......

amzon homelands
westmarch/kingsport (paladin homeland)
scosglen (druid homeland)
north, east and south of the jungles of kurast (necro/sorc/assassin homelands)
one of which should be asian themed, its the only medieval setting that has yet to be used in the diablo universe

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
yeh a diablo game that takes place during the sin war would be cool, it might just be me but i just dislike it a little when games/movies are called 'something II' (or III) and are the prequel.

How about a quest where u got to go and find the hero from diablo2 in some type of ruin. Than defeat him and battle. The rewards would be he'll teach you a skill or just give you a scroll like the ones in diablo 1
In Diablo III, your very first quest is the last one Deckard Cain will be there for. It's a fairly easy mission, since it's the first one of the game, but it reveals vital information to the storyline of the game
~~~~~~~~~~
Starting Location:
Small village in the Arreat Mountains, Hugall
Quest Recieved From:
Deckard Cain
Primary Quest:
Venture up the Rocky Trail to the Secret Cavern leading into the Worldstone Chamber. Search the chamber for Tyrael and bring him to safety. We need him to discuss the future of Sanctuary. Don't be surprised if the explosion has killed him.
Side Quest:
Search the rubble inside the chamber for a relatively clean Worldstone Shard. We can use it to repel some demons on our journey.
Description:
As you leave the village andwork your way up the trail, you will be constantly hacking and slashing your way through some of the remains of Baal's legions. There are a few trails that lead to dead ends, and some to treasure, but you will ultimately come to the Secret Cavern. Slash your way through the spiders and the unseen. You will come to the Worldstone Chamber. After searching the rubble, you will discover Baal's Soulstone (laying on the ground) is drawing energy from Tyrael's dying body, along with other various Worldstone Shards. You will slay the weakened Tyrael, and take Baal's Soulstone. As you venture back to the village, it is has been raided and in flames. You are taken captive by a demon horde, and they steal Baal's Soulstone from you, and leave you sit in the middle of the burning village. (If you would have taken one of the clean Worldstone Shards in the chamber, then the demons would have ended up taking that instead, allowing you to carry Baal's Soulstone to the next quest, where it will be lost for sure).
it wouldnt be bad to visit character homelands; maybe you can get some sort of bonus in d3 from visiting a homeland if your that specific character.
my quest idea does seem too asian, but remember that its the very last part of act 1, and my idea for that act is pretty huge. you will start off somewhere in east/north-east and, this is just an idea, choose which paths you want to take around sanctuary, like if you want to go south-west (scosglen, westmarch) or south-east (dessert, kurast, amazon islands) and travel to different locations rather than one straitfoward path like in d2. ultimately you will end up in the asian setting because thats where the portal to heaven is
Then its just gonna be called Diablo:Sin War
Assassins live secretly
Necros live in some swampy region in an underground city.
Sounds to asian. Erm.
