Maybe if you weren't a bunch of trespassing douchebags making a mess of their city, they'd be more obliged to help.
Being on public land isn't trespassing, and calling them ALL douchebags is a rather broad statement.
My only problem with the video is none of those cops even tried to look into it. They knew he was undercover and gave him a free pass to do as he pleased.
All those OWS protesters in Zucotti Park were trespassing for months though, and you can't just camp out in public like these protesters are. They're breaking a bunch of laws consistently. I'm just as surprised the police aren't hard core cracking down on the law-breaking protesters, as I am that the cops didn't look into the assault claim by the cameraman.
They demand nonviolence, peace, and transparency from the police and government but they dish out that exact thing.
Don't get me wrong I think it's great to see people united behind something but I think they're for the most part very misguided and at the upper levels corrupt now. It's a sad situation.

Such is life. Corruption is everywhere. A lot of the movement has become violent (a lot as in many many cities, not as in a lot of the total % of Occupiers). Also, being in parks and such that have specified hours is trespassing i.e. criminal conduct.
people need to wait and protest when something is WORTH protesting. this nonsense is not worth anything. everyone has more then enough opportunity in america to make tons of money if you apply yourself. so wait until the government goes corrupt or something.

Right... I never asserted that wasn't the case. However I don't know the specifics of or if these parks have a curfew typed ordinance. I suspect they do not or this would be over a lot quicker. They wouldn't need undercover cops to find reasons to arrest/eject people from the park if it had a curfew. I'm sure some of the occupiers are trespassing but I bet the majority are not or this wouldn't still be going on.
Tents yes are most likely illegal but that's sort of the point of an occupation and civil disobedience to break some minor laws to direct attention to larger ones. Which I'm not sure anymore what they even represent, this thing has been hijacked and twisted so many times since the beginning. I never said their cause was just and noble or they were all angels and all police demons but when I see rights being stomped on and police not preforming their job it annoys me. That goes both ways though. If I saw that a mob had assaulted and pepper sprayed a cop you can bet I wouldn't cheer.
Lemme see if I can channel my inner republican a moment...
OK! Protesting is stupid. Anyone with enough free time to protest is a useless hippie and a drain on society. That goes double to anyone who's parents have money, because those kids didn't EARN anything! Of course, people shouldn't be taxed for being successful and therefor their offspring are almost guaranteed to be a generation of spoiled, useless, rotten hippie filth, BUT THAT IS WHY WE HAVE POLICE AND JAIL!
Laws are written to be followed. Even very banal laws like "don't loiter," are absolutely keystone to the conduct of a smooth society. What's more, I am sick and tired of every hippie and his hackey-sack taking pot-shot jokes at police and other law enforcement! Everyone knows that once a man puts on the uniform he immediately becomes inscrutably honest, up-right, and deserving of the benefit in EVERY doubt. Sure, there may be some bad apple policemen who've shot and killed innocent youngsters in the housing projects of our cities, but that is a SMALL price to pay for the safety and well-being of our middle-class suburban neighborhoods!
Finally, I've had it up to HERE with poor people. SERIOUSLY, I HAVE HAD IT! They claim to be "disabled veterans," or people "born into low-income families with little or no access to secondary education." Well guess what scumbags? I was born into a HARD-SCRABBLE lower-middle-class household where we only had ONE CAR! Can you believe that?! We were so poor, my family had to no buy a second car just to send me to college! When my father-in-law gave me a six-figure job, it wasn't because I was related to him. It was because I was the best goddamn vice-president of middle-management financial analysis advisory secretary around! Nepotism is a joke because it never really happens. Just like there is no such thing as luck. Only the strong survive and I am living proof of that. After all. I'm relatively successful and I think that I'm strong. Therefor, anyone who isn't successful is naturally weak and probably not worth helping.
God bless America, a christian nation that was definitely not founded by deists. A place where, hopefully soon, the right to vote will again be limited to those who own property, or perhaps shares in blue-chip stocks. I have to get back to the O'Riley factor. He's going to call that smug little liberal juden John Stewart a traitor bound for hell. I need to record it for our Sunday school class.

+400 (id give it to you if i could) for truly EPIC sarcasm.
the amount of people that actually are in such dire straits that they didnt cause themselves that cant find time to go to school to get a better job is so unbelievably tiny. and to find those people is almost impossible, THATS why the government really can't do anything. the majority of people on unemployment and welfare simply dont need it or are just mooching. there is no giant group of poor people who through no fault of their own are in their current situation. MANY famous and rich or even just well off people came from extreme poverty and dire straits as well. so thats no excuse.
if you have some magical plan to somehow find these very specific people and help them without giving money away to mostly people who dont deserve it then by all means give it. but until then no one has the answer. but i know what isnt the answer, small groups of college kids causing issues in the streets thinking their doing anyone any good saying our government is somehow corrupt. move to a country where the government is ACTUALLY corrupt and then start complaining.
EDIT: another reason i say this is because the signs and the message they are sending "we are the 99%". those people protesting arent ANY of the percent because anyone with enough free time to protest isnt by definition of what they are protesting for. if they are protesting FOR the people who cant then great. but the sign should be "were like the 11% probably, maybe less". for the specific type of person i described above. think about where these specific people live, "the ghetto". mostly comprised of criminals and people who are in their situation because of themselves, and when your in a city you think "definitely avoid the area with the numbered streets and MLK" and how big is this area in each city? some massive area comprised of hundreds of thousands? lol no. not even close. every city has a ghetto and its never big. so the people are the very specific people in the already small ghetto.

I'm afraid I've met a few dull cow eyed people who eat Fox's bovine faithfully. Seriously, the few I've encountered who implicitly believe Fox News probably are working with an IQ of around 80. No shit, you can practically see their thoughts forming inside their heads, no arguing with people like that. Fortunately Americas reputation for its populace being largely stupid is greatly exaggerated, there are lot more people here in the states who know better.

But to say that what Fox News reports on is untrue is pretty ridiculous. ALL news networks have a bias in one direction or another and no matter where you get your news, it's somewhat skewed. Some networks don't even report on topics because it's counter to their message, while others report on them in an opposite direction to try and put positive light on something they support.
It doesn't matter what news station you watch, so long as you extract the information of what is happening from the news reports. Don't just sit there and thing that what someone else is outraged over, is what you should be outraged over. Take the facts and make your mind up yourself.

The problem is that Fox News is the worst. They cut parts out of videos to fit their views. For example, they cut a part out of an Obama speech where he said "We are raising taxes!" They then said "See, for once Obama is telling the truth!". When you watch the entire segment, you see he is refering to something that Bush did.
Not to say the others don't slant one way or another, but they are absolutely nothing to Fox News. Fox News, more well known as Republican News Network, is the Lord God King of bullshit.
