even better yet, nothing diablo related in their banner either. however at the last blizzcon (i went to it) on all their merchandise, aka tee-shirts and bags, diablo was the character who stood out most.
<--blizzcon poster, same image is used on the bags and shirts. diablo is in the middle stands out quite a bit, but also looks as if he is trying to remain hidden. maybe blizz had plans for D3 last summer?
lol now thats a nice question to ask... and a very SUBTLE one too...
Anyway, I think the poster is not so relevant because I actually remember Diablo was also on the one from last year... But I recall no inclusion of a Diablo II link on the website...

the blizzcon site has no links to diablo nor does it even mention it. at the last blizzcon the only thing with an image of diablo on it was the bags, posters and shirts. they had no banners or anything like that hanging around.
yeah, I believe its the right way to go, I just think Blizz is giving away too many info all of a sudden... the news in question here, Diablo 2 link on the WWI website, significant dates... all too strange... and yet I love this tension.... lol
Oh yeah, I got carried away.. lol and yes, you're right in that... at the last Blizzcon they had no mention of Diablo at all besides for artwork... *chills run through the back on the thought they are mentioning it now..*
yeah, I must admit everything i'd like to see is that: a reassurance that Blizzard is finally announcing Diablo 3... although I read on another thread that MD and Umaro's reactions were on the lines of WTF and ZOMG... so I really hope it's an artwork to be shown on WWI with the logo, or at least a surprising (but good) alteration to the game... for example, prequel, sequel stuff...
lots of things come in my mind... mmo (nooooo), rts (argh), playing as a demon or angel (interesting)
im hoping when d3 does come out it will be similar to D2, allowing lan play and B.net. my life is already sucked up by WoW, when i finaly do quit wow i hope to never play another mmo again.
Why would Diablo II be at wwi and not on the '07 blizzcon?
Makes me wonder...:)
probably wont be. Eveything blizzard does regarding public events has hadd nothing to do with the Diablo world. Blizzcon - nope. Blizzcast - no. WWI - no.
maybe it's about to change
And btw, there was some info on Diablo in one of the Blizzcast episodes. There are plans for a more Diablo-related episode (would be the 3rd, but has been postponed), and there are all those connections to diablo lately both on the WWI site and around the net (ie. here) so I can't help thinking that something's happening.
They already announced Wotlk so I dont really understand what you mean...
But there will prolly be a new announcement at the new wwi.
blizz obviously had plans for WotLK at wwi, when was it, 2007? but said nothing about it. im thinking they had plans for D3 at blizzcon 2007 but said nothing about it. seems like they tried to hide it so hard they even didnt put up anything diablo related at blizzcon. understand now? im ttrying my best to explain this, sorry.
I'm sayin it's just too suggestive to put a link to a game whose series haven't been on the spotlight for a while on an upcoming public event website. A public event very similar to the one they announced a new game previously.
You can check every event blizzard has done in the past few years and find nothing of Diablo besides artwork... so we wonder the reasons for putting on a link to the game, when we know there aren't contests on these events.
Just for quoting the website (event info):
"The 2008 Blizzard Entertainment Worldwide Invitational will feature exciting eSport invitational tournaments, drawing top Warcraft III, StarCraft and World of Warcraft Arena players from around the world to play for over $100,000 in prizes! In addition to these professional gaming matches, community player tournaments will allow you show your skills for fun and glory – and some exclusive tournament prizes."
If there is no Diablo there, why the hell put that link on the main page?

Edit: out of the question, but link stays for people to check the diablo 2 link just in case. ^^

WoW:WotLK was not at the wwi last year, SC2 was. why announce 2 games at once when blizz can make millions by having an event (wwi) to announce it.
