So I have a question: If normally I would play on the US servers (because I live closest to those), can I play on the EU servers on the 15th to start playing early 6 hours earlier??
AFAIK, no. You have to wait for your specific US client to unlock at the same time as everyone else's in the US (12:01). If you buy the EU client then yea no matter where you live you could connect at the 00:01 CEST, but since you have the US client you have to wait until either 12:01 or 3:01 depending on where in US you are.
This really blows for people on the EST which is the majority of the country. That will be 3:01 am on a tuesday. See ya work day! They should have released it 12:01 am EST. The rest of the world that really matters will already have it hours before that anyway. 9:00 PDT would make anyone mad there either. It does piss me of how egocentric blizzard can be.
When you think about it, some people have been waiting almost 12 years for this game. Are we really counting the hours at this point?
I guarantee someone chooses to just play on the EU servers unless there is some sort of lock the first 24 hours. IMO they should really just bring all the servers up at the same time whether thats midnight EU or w/e i dont care.

I'm one of those people. Yes, that's 3 hours less sleep/ play I am behind and that the majority of U.S. players will be behind.

well yes - we need to know when the release is to the exact hour so we can start modifying our sleep patterns to allow us to play unfatigued the moment it launches.

I don't see how this makes them egocentric? What is the 9 hours difference anyway? Im from europe, but it is actually a work day, so will start playing the next evening at best. We have been waiting years for this game, 9 hours seems like a second in comparison.
I can't imagine why this would bother anyone. EU is a seperate server environment, so it's hard to see why anyone would care.
This made me curious about something though. Are they limiting the start time by account origin, or by chosen server? In other words, will US players be able to switch to the EU server and play unitl the US server comes up? Seems like a potential crowding issue. LOL!

I'm pretty sure since your account is bound to a region the game will just not be unlocked until the appropriate time therefore refusing you to log in,
Even if you somehow cheat the installer to think you live in Europe and unlocking the installation.

I think that's how it should be. EU servers would probably be overstressed, serving the initial rush from their own users, plus everyone from other regions wanting an early start.
In America, we got most of the early beta invites and stuff. Waiting 9 hours doesn't seem a big deal.
I think we get on at the same time anywhere in the US, but EST is several timezones east of PST, so when we all start playing, it will be later on the clock.

nuff said
With Ireland and Portugal
If they were egocentric would they not launch it on the pacific coast first ?
I'm annoyed however to have to wait 3am on the 15th since I live in EST zone.
I'll probably go with my plan to do an all nighter the 13th-14th, then go to bed at 6pm the 14th and wake up at 3am.
I'll also avoid spoilers that way.
Stay awhile and listen.

Edit: Oops, this is already answered. Sorry!

At least on these forums...
Ha. Bagstone.
Honestly, it's shallow of me, but I hope not. I can't stand that guy.
From reading comments it sounds like PST gets on first in the US, then Midwest, then EST?
