-If a thread is in the wrong place, it needs to be moved
-If a post is in the wrong place, it needs to be moved
-If double or triple posts are made, they need to be merged
-If duplicate threads are made, they need to be merged/deleted
-If a thread has long since served its purpose, it needs to be closed
-Editing a post so it is readable, and not something your scratching your head to understand
-If a post quotes an entire post, yet is only actually referring to a small part of it it needs to be edited
That stuff is all needed, places get insanely cluttered/confusing without that sort of moderation.
As for Flame, there needs to be some form of policing. If I say i like something, I shouldn't be subjected to an over whelming amount of flame directed at me for simpling having an oppinon that differs from someone else. If you want to try and change my way of thinking, your more likely to succeed by informing me why I am wrong, than just calling me an idiot and/or telling me to "jump of a cliff" or some such thing.
I'm not saying mods should just delete flame, but they do need to control it, so it dosent turn into an all-out hate fest, but hopefully in a way that has no repercussions, easily said than done.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
@Elfen - amen.
I think though that if a post has a little bit of flaming like an idiot there or gay there but still a constructive post at the same time, I say leave it alone, it's good.

Opposed your post deletions shouldn't of been a reason at all. He has a right to question what you do, and what's the harm? o.O You're not the lord of the forum you know.

Never read the rules, did you? :
"If unsatisfied with the actions of a particular moderator or administrator, please send him/her a Personal Message, but do not discuss his/her actions in public."

When it comes to actual limitations on what a person can discuss (for example, forbidden to talk about religion or politics and so on) then i would like to keep that to the absolute minimum aslong as it doesn't clutter a topic or thread like the previous examples i gave.
We plan to have a section specifically for those discussions, with flame allowed.

That's total bullshit

Not really. I just told him to stop doing what he was doing, not in a very nice manner because I wasn't really supposed to do any of that, just del all his posts, ban him for a month, and forget about it. But I'm trying to be nice. And what do I get for that?
@Equinox - why not? It might actually help you guys to make better opinions, because if users agree that's what counts
@Equinox again - roflmfao, users opinion matter way more then mods. You want to keep us happy

Well, I'm trying to be a user while remaining a moderator and, I guess, at this point in time with this "cooperation", it is impossible.
Elfen, before anyone can stop anything, there has to be the agreement: if a moderator says don't do it, don't do it.
That's horseshit. You flaunt your moderation status and act like you're better than everyone else. Also back to my original premise. Moderators do not have authority. They are just to remove the clutter and build up of stupid spam. I did not flame you. I made a joke and you popped your cherry over it. You are much to oppinionated for a moderator position. You look down apon the rest of us and refuse to listen to other people's oppinions. Stop acting like you are better than the rest of us. Moderators also should not have the power to ban. You are nothing different from any other member other than the fact that you control and regulate spam.
@Equinox - why not? It might actually help you guys to make better opinions, because if users agree that's what counts
There is nothing wrong with our opinions. Offtopic is bad and everyone agrees with it, not just moderators, but also a few users, except they are the quiet type so they do not engage in these kinds of arguments much.

The position of the forum is to aquire users of a certain type. Not to follow the demands of a few "old users".

I'm sorry, your opinion does not matter.
You called him stupid... I remember that. In another thread you called somebody an idiot.
MY OPINION DOESN'T MATTER???
Uh, why the hell not? My opinion is just as good as yours. I'm active here, I should have just as much rights as you even if you're a moderator.
Offtopic is bad and everyone agrees with it, not just moderators, but also a few users, except they are the quiet type so they do not engage in these kinds of arguments much.
Off topic is fun. It's not written in stone that's bad. All threads would die if it wasn't for off-topic. This forum would suck.
Then the quiet people should speak up. Or does quiet mean not active?
Im afraid to put my 2 cents in anywhere... anyone else find this funny?? I mean 4 weeks ago all we hear was complaint of spamming and flame fights going on, lack of moderation. And when we do get mods its about over moderation...

If you ever meet a hafling and a hungry dragon you dont have to outrun the dragon, you only have to outrun the hafling.
That's horseshit. You flaunt your moderation status and act like you're better than everyone else.
I have authority. I don't need to be better than you to have authority. I just need you to do what I ask you to. All I'm being here is straightforward, that's all.

As far as I perceive the word "moderator", they have the most authority over a forum, always.

You opposed my deletion of posts in the "I'm moving" thread, you joked about me in a disrespectful manner in other threads, and you have done similar things previosly, so you got your ban.

I listen to the opinions of the moderators. If I listen to people then there is no use for moderation, because it suggests that people can moderate themselves. It was decided that they cannot moderate themselves.

Regulation of spam does not require moderators and it is NOT the reason moderators were appointed. Not the reason at all.
