Just knock it off guys. You are starting to sound like a bunch of sore losers.
@ Lt and Reptar- too little too late. When you posted your number in the thread and hoped to win, didn't you see any problems then? Why didn't you complain? Surely you must have realized what your competition was. By your own logic, secard shouldn't be giving this SC2 key here at all because he couldn't have contributed much according to you (what with 7 posts and all). He still said he liked the place and that was a good enough reason...until he gave it away to another member with a low post count that is.
Still, I think secard basically shoved his own face into dung the moment he mentioned his 2 year rule, but he made up for it by actually considering half the users' posts in this thread who didn't meet the requirement. The 2 year rule served its purpose in the end. No user registered on this site just for the key, like was seen in the other giveaway-beta-key thread.

The 2 year rule was mostly to scare away people from just registering on the spot and raffling. I would have been fairly lenient.
Incidentally I got another friend invite, so I am giving the runner up the key.
So congratulations to zhuge for the entry of 333.
Oh wait everyone, let me check with Umpa65 to make sure I am allowed to.
I'm not bashing you or anything, I'm simply being honest. You said you wanted to give back to a community that is by far the best source for Diablo information by raffling away a Beta key to a deserving user with 2 years experience. I can't help but think this is just another user taking advantage of an opportunity and will probably not contribute anything. Nothing against that person but, coming from someone who has been here for more than 2 years (this is my second account), I have never seen that person post ever despite the 10 count.
Without members we don't have a website. weather they have contributed a lot or few. Simply This was my way of giving back to the community, and I don't care if you think it is right or not. I am not going to go out of my way to make a raffle, and then make small anal rules to make sure the utmost deserving are only allowed. I just asked for contribution to the website and I see being a registered member for an amount of time substantial enough. I am sorry you don't see it that way.

Well, that could be a valid assumption however stupid.
I didn't actually care that much so looking at the post count and join date of every entry would have been dumb.
And so you say to yourself "Ninjosaur, then why did you go and look at the winner after he was announced the winner?"
Hhhmm...IDK, maybe because it was announced?! I saw that the winner was someone I had never heard of before so I then went to go check out who it was. Simple as that.
You seem to misinterpret my rants here as a lot of people do. When I go on rants like this, it's not a matter of me being angry about not winning or anything, but rather the simple principle of the matter that I choose to defend and shed light on as opposed to remaining silent. Cliche as that is, it's the truth. And I know there are a few people out there who agree with me.
I simply happen to be the only person who speaks up about it.

Since we are among friends here, then let me tell you that I greatly appreciate your honesty.
However if you can no longer differentiate between honesty and rudeness, then it's your bad.
And you were downright rude in this thread- the reason why I am posting here.
I ain't here to lecture you. You know already enough. You just haven't realized it.
secard was generous with the beta keys giveaway and he felt part of the community. This should be enough.
But apparently not for you, as you suddenly start to put forward your standards on what 'belong-to-the-community' is defined by.
You just forgot something- it's not you who's giving away the keys, so your standards are undesirable in such a context and you looked no more than a sore looser by criticizing both the winner and the prize-giver.

What you fail to realize is that I don't care how I'm perceived. If you choose to believe that I'm ranting because I'm mad I didn't get a key, then so be it. It means nothing to me either way. Trust me, I've been called rude plenty of times. Sometimes people agree with me, sometimes not. As I said, it matters not to me!
1. You choose to argue with my main point despite the fact that I know you perceive it wholly. You simply choose to disagree and voice the opinion. By doing so, it simply provokes me to respond. Don't expect me not to.
2. Yes, I did criticize. I did not however, tell the person they should give the key to someone else or they should GTFO because they don't contribute. Nor did I say the winner was a bad person for only having 10 posts in 4 years. You can be as self righteous as you would like and pretend that everybody has equal worth. However, that's not what I will do.
Why you ask? Why in the world would it even matter if they contribute a lot or not? Well, since you either don't get it, or choose to ignore it, I shall state it for a third time. When there is a raffle for a key or some prize, it always goes to a user that is not a regular user, and once the gift is given, that user flees and never returns.
Call me a prick for judging if you want, it doesn't matter to me. I call it like I see it. This instance is no different I can guarantee it.
Now you might be saying to yourself: "Well, that doesn't give you the right to be such a dick, who made you the boss around here to judge people and be rude."
Well, I didn't initially DESIRE to come off as rude, but if so then it's the cost of battle I suppose.
In all actuality, I care nothing about this particular incident. I am simply using it as an example to speak out about an issue that has come up more than once. Rhetorical question time: Well, why?
Well, because, I seem to be the only person who ever cares about this stuff. Stuff, meaning things like other issues I have ranted about such as Curse owning Dfans and those stupid Stupid STUPID add's that take up the entire page, and posting lame ass news about starcraft maps from Curse. I feel somebody should speak up. I know a lot of people don't want to be perceived in a negative light so they brush it off and go about things. well, I've never been one to do that. If I think something is wrong, you're going to know about it.
Diablo is my favorite game series of all time. I have so many fond memories of that simple video game. Then, I found this great community. I also have many fond memories of discussing the game here. I don't like it when I feel someone or something is taking advantage of this great community in any way. So, I choose to voice my opinion at the risk of being labelled.
One last word. I know why people are getting offended I get it. I'm guessing it's a bit of this: "Wow, way to be a total elitist and try to exclude people you choose to deem as unworthy and decide how much they contribute. "
Well, I'm not trying to do that at all. I'm not saying "Oh, you only have 10 posts, that means you don't contribute here and are not a part of the community." No, that's not what I'm saying. I encourage ANY new user to post here and make this place great. But when someone rogues there way in, grabs the prize and bails. It makes me feel the community got robbed. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe that person will go on to actually post here and contribute in any tiny way they can. But we all know what will really happen. Or rather, what already did happen. The person got their key, and now they are gone. Tell me I'm wrong, I hope I am.

Nice one Secard, giving away 2 keys is somewhat generous. xD
gave one to jetrall and the other to skynight.
the third one thanks to secard well i dunno what do give it to yet.
