Ohhhh yeah, that freaking pinching rule. Wtf. I'm so glad I live in Australia, where most people tend to forget about it, but some like to use the excuse for getting drunk (especially pub owners, lol). I've never known anyone being pinched. Thats sooooo stupid and... so incredibly... I don't know how to put this... CONFORMING. DESCRIMINATING. ABUSIVE. (?)
wtf!! i didn't know thats what St Patrics Day was about! I didn't even know there was a real St Patrick.
I'm gonna wiki this just to make sure my hate is justified!
Edit: Lol, santa so is satan! (joking, obviously)
Edit 2: oh wait, you're being serious? hah, no. The original idea of 'santa' did not have the cultural context that we have today. Take it out of its context, and sure, sounds like satan, but back in those days things were different. Also note that 'Santa' has different names in different cultures, with ours being the only one that resembles the word 'satan'. Also also note 'satan' also has many names.
Edit 3: I wikied it (I know, its only wikipedia, but I aint bothered to go much further) and he seems to be famous for two things. One, banishing Druids and the like; and two, introducing his own religion to Ireland - which really didn't seem to do them much good in the end anyway. He just created another reason for them to get drunk... I'm sure God would be pleased.
WEll thats really crap, I now officially hate St Patricks day. I hate any sort of genocide, but especially genocide against Pagans.
I never really knew what it was about before anyway, and I've never actually celebrated it.
Yet another EDIT: I don't think the day is realy about celebrating what St Patrick has done anymore, its more about appreciating the Irish, making them feel loved, you know. Obviously discluding Pagans. Where the fuck is 'Pagan Day', huh!?
