No, he was just describing it best. In Eve Online you get to customize your ship and with it the whole gameplay experience, that's why it works better as a "sandbox".
Now about World of Warcraft, everyone who played it (i know i did my fair share of playing) knows it's very much a "theme park" of a MMORPG, which led to the point you agreed with.
I'm aware of that.
Just if you look at any MMO forum (any forum, Rift, WoW, SW:TOR, w/e), those terms are thrown all over the place.
You're just saying something rather old and commonly recognized at this point so I wonder if you have just been recently introduced to the terms or something.
Xsyson, EVE, SWG are sandboxes.
WoW-MMO's are themeparks.
Everyone knows that. At least, I thought everyone does.
You misunderstood me. You have choices when you play an MMO. WoW has choices, just like EVE does. You can choose what to do and when to do it.
Erm, not really. Not within what's commonly understood as "choice" in video games.
The amount of stuff you can do in WoW is quite limited, especially at end game (which is why I prefer the leveling phase). The amount of stuff you can do in EVE is quite varied, although EVE limits in other ways which I don't really like.
MMO is what it gives you really. If all you can do is raid and PvP well then that's all you can do. In fact, MMO's direct people streams pretty strongly with rewards and features.

Pretty much this.
