Yea, you had to pay close attention to the story. Warcraft 3 really explains alot of why stuff in Warcraft 2 happened like they did, along with telling things that happened during or directly before/after Warcraft 2. (Especially liked the Night Elf campaign when we find out what Gul'dan went through when he explored and finnally died in the Tomb of Sargeras, which was the reason he originally manipulated the Horde to go to Azeroth in the first place.)
Yes, it was a long stretch. (Warcraft Adventures would of made the connection clearer and better, but as you know it wasn't released. Even in a book form.)
You have to know whats going on before and after Warcraft 2 and whats going on before Warcraft 3. It's a bit more in depth then one would expect. I really wouldn't expect many on a forum not based on Warcraft to see the links though.
In all seriousness, I'd ask you to try Warcraft 3. All of these old-time WC2 gamers will tell you how fantastic WC2 was, but I honestly don't see it myself. I never got into it myself besides messing around in the editor. WC3 however was wonderful.
Unless you played WC3 that is, and in that case, shame on you!
Bastard! Warcraft 2 was freaking awsome! It's how I got into the Blizzard thing!
I wish I still had the Warcraft 2 disc... Then again I wish Warcraft 2 worked...
I should post the error message some day and see if anyone can help...
I'm referring to both. I've invested quite a bit of time into the game during my "FREE ONLINE-RPG" splurge. It's a horrible game. Huge grind, very repetitious.
Most MMO's have a huge grind. WoW is very different then other MMO's simply because of the huge number of quests which reduces the grind time.
all of you who hate Starcraft suck ass. why cant any of you realize the brilliance of Starcraft? The plot, the gameplay, the simplicities and the challenge-ities, the strategy, etc. You gotta love it. I was addicted to it automatically.
(im going to get flamed by 50 people now)
Starcraft flips the norm on its head and jap slaps it to next tuesday before butt raping it multiple times. I personally love Starcraft and when I get Starcraft 2 I doubt I will be seen much on here untill its beaten.
Plus the story is so amazing, especially for its time. The line between good and evil is so blurred, you never know who is good or evil, you just know you have to survive.
That's why I like Blizzard, Blizzard games blurr the line between good and evil. You start to think you know who is good and who is evil and you get butt fucked back into reality.
i like both a lot but after wow came out, i definitely like starcraft more now.
wow lost the true feel for warcraft. Warcraft was like a medieval dark battle between 2 races. world of warcraft just made that shitty
It's never been a war between two races. Two factions, yea, but not two races.
And I kinda like WoW. It lets you get into the universe where before you were more of a spectator. I would like it more if you could assassinate the major heads of the two factions though. Kill the human boy and WarChief Thrall. Be alot more interesting that way. And if you could actually take over towns like in a real war...
I do like how Blizzard took the Orcs in WC3 though. The misunderstood race that everyone thinks is evil but turns out to actually be the good guys in the war. *Sighs happily*
I got Warcraft 2 bundled with a copy of Starcraft Shareware. I played both and at first I thought Warcraft 2 was way better but then I learned how to use Siege Tanks in the 5th shareware mission.
I do miss Warcraft 2 though... (It won't work on my comp for some reason... Q.Q)

Are you refering to the graphics or the game play?

If you only have watched and never played...then shut up... You know jack...
You should teach me how to play it then! o.O!!
