Tar pits fit only in a few places:
Dinosaur Age jungles / lush green areas.
Primordial craters (Un'Goro Craterish idea)
Deserts (already done, so either they are talking more about act 2, or hinting about act 3)

Simply be creative and post one or more detailed suggestions or your personal wishes for the Diablo 3 Team ... What do you want to see in Diablo 3 concerning Trading features and PvP features. Post them below.
When it comes to trading in Diablo 2, it was always difficult to transfer your items from character to character. I find it would be best if there was a way to mail your items to other characters. Or, find some way to have "X-fer" games up until the user cancels them (or after a very prolonged period of time the servers can cancel them?). I didn't have any real life friends, and found it difficult to make trust-worthy friends enough to do xfering.
In regards to trading, I want to see the real bartering going on. Items for items. In the past it was always "40 sojs for WF" or nowadays it's "HR for ...". There might not be something you can do to elminate an item being duped, and becoming a currency, but if there is, I think players would really enjoy that.
Trade channels were a great idea but how about this:
Trade Thread:
When you log in, you can switch to a trade channel and make a "trade thread." Each player get's 1 slot, and get's to put as much detailed information as they want in the thread. Once posted, it shows up on a list (much like a forum, but the threads appear in a scrollable box like the chat channel view instead) and anyone can click on it. You could make it searchable, and include certain terms like "ISO" or "FS" or something like that. And then, if someone wants to buy or sell you something, create an option within the collapsed thread to "invite player to game to trade", where they do so. This would eliminate trade chat spam (disallowing people to "chat," and disabling webpages from thread descriptions), and make it MUCH easier than searching how many ungodly amounts of online forums to find the right trade, because it would all be IN GAME, in the b.net chat channels.
thanks for looking. -

Jul 18, 2008vanguardxx2 posted a message on Kingdom of Shadow - Lost City of UrehSo I picked up the Archive today and I must say, being already 50 pages into The Legacy of Blood, that this is very good work! I had a hard time putting it down as I sat in Barnes and Noble in an uncomfortable chair! I've got the next few days down and will be reading it while I have the time. :cool:Posted in: News
If you have $17 go pick up the archive... so far it's definitely worth reading, and should keep you somewhat busy until D3 comes out. What better way to pass the time before then by brushing up on your Lore? -

Jun 27, 2008vanguardxx2 posted a message on Worldwide Invitational Live Streams AvailableI'm not sure how many people will even read this, but I noticed something I'm sure everyone else is speculating on.Posted in: News
Go to the WWI stream page:
http://eu.blizzard.com/wwi08/streams.xml
Then, look under the schedule titled "Sunday"
Notice:
17:00-17:15 Developer Panel
(17:00 - 18:00)17:15-17:3017:30-17:4517:45-18:00
This time slot has your focus pulled to the Tournament Stage. There is nothing going on, on the main stage. Yes, this could be so they can have time to get set up for the concert, but I feel it is also attention grabbing. It is forcing everyone to be watching the developer panel for a set amount of time before the concert.
Saturday is nothing like this, everyone is free to roam and do as they please, and watch what they want.
But on Sunday, from 17:00 - 18:00, something is going on on the Tournament stage, that everyone MUST watch.
This has to be when they will announce whatever it is they are announcing. -

Pretty sure some of you already know about this, but if you head over to Barnes and Noble website (http://www.bn.com/) and search "Diablo" you will get a list of all the books currently for sale.
If you register an account (free) you may preview most (if not all) of the books.. Up to 5 chapters each.
This may help you in your decision to buy the books or not, reading material for the year or so it will be before D3 comes out.
Hope this helps!

I am going to be building a new gaming PC within the next couple years (at least 1 month before Diablo 3 comes out is my goal).
In the past, I never made any effort to back up my files and have had some serious mishaps. Now that I have the patience and money to invest in one, I am looking to purchase an external hard drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822111017
Now.. Do I need software for my new computer to be able to backup the information to the external hard drive?
In the event of a crash, how will I get the data from my external hard drive to the new one in my computer?
Would anyone recommend buying a second internal hard drive for backup inside my computer case (there will be plenty of space, I'm buying a huge tower)?
Basically, I'm looking for any advice on how to make my new gaming PC an unstoppable force (against crashes, need to reformat, or anything like that) because of my past mistakes. Anything you can offer would be greatly appreciated!

Just because some people on a fansite forum don't like a particular piece of a game (for example, the graphics or a class), does not mean it is a bad choice all around.
Are you forgetting the people that do like these things? Does that make it a good choice?
I for one am extremely happy after watching the gameplay video at least 10 times through, and just this morning having watched it in the 800mb high res version. I am very pleased with the graphics, the look, the feel, and the awesome power of both classes.
By your logic, Blizzard has made a good choice.
My point here is, if you don't like something, you can't say it's a bad decision based on your opinion. You have to back it up with FACTS.
However, I DO agree that if they bring back the necromancer, some/most of the WD's skills will bleed over. You are very right. But my thoughts are that they are not bringing the Necromancer back. In a video I watched of a D3 dev, he mentioned the necromancer as if he wasn't in this game.
Lastly, yes, I remember Witch Doctors in WC3. It was like 2am and I had a hard time remembering every class/thing that crossed over/shared games.

Here goes:
It was a disappointment that there are only 5 classes in D3. I think the witch-doctor is a bad replacement for the undead-caster. Most importantly, he is a waste of one of the five precious classes.
Why?
Primary reason:
He looks so weird and ugly. The closest word to describing him is gay.
>>>Really bad way to make an arguement. Using politically incorrect words to describe something is like digging your own grave.
His class name even sounds gay, it doesnt sound dark at all! I would much prefer the warlock, shaman, and best of all, the necromancer.
>>> Again, the use of "gay" here is misplaced. Find something better. Warlock and shaman are two very different classes, and they are both WoW classes. This is a double whammy, mainly because they are WoW classes, and other than the Paladin or Rogue, there isn't a very high chance that blizzard will use simillar classes across games.
I am not a hardcore fan of the necromancer, but if you are going to replace such a meaningful class, please choose wisely.
>>>They have chosen wisely. In fact, they've been working on it for several years. How can you say that this is not a good choice? Have you taken the time to watch the Class Discussion panel?
Why does the witch doctor have a fireball spell? THIS DOESNT MAKE SENSE. Fire should remain unique to the sorceress (unless you have elemental traps like the assassin in d2).
But a plain fireball spell?
>>> Witch Doctor implies that he is very handy with alchemical things. The devs explained that the "fireball" is an alchemical concotion inside a SKULL. Think about that one, and tell me if you still withhold your above statement?
I like the undead wall. The mongrels, locust swarm, horrify and other spells are pretty gay.
>>> Agreed on Undead wall. Disagreed on "gay," once again.
Just my thought. I have to admit, the WD Looks pretty ugly. His spells seem all over the place.
>>> Blizz Devs have put a lot of thought into all the class skills. There is reason behind all of them, and I don't feel you are searching hard enough.
The barbarian totally overshadowed the WD in the gameplay trailer.
>>> This I disagree with. Although they did give the Barbarian more time, the witch doctor really captured my eye, because barb was old news brought back to life. But this is all opinion.

Damn, you're right.
But you called the witch doctor "gay." That's not exactly a "politically correct" way of describing him, or anything for that matter. So your own comments are depriving your arguement, because you said, "people like me" and "slavery" in the same sentence. So.. you're kind of contradicting yourself.
Seriously, your primary reason was that he looks gay.
Btw, I still like the witch doctor.
ps. dont take me too seriously.
