Even though that was a problem on the old B-net, I doubt it would be now. With the insane upgrades in technology and the fact that B-net could hold tens of thousands of people at once, I think the lagging will be minimal.
I hope that they decide to keep at least 8 per game and if not at least 6 but 4 seems way to small for a diablo game.

:offtopic:they've been working on it for quite a while... everythin is pretty much finished, they are just addin additional game content. As i remember from an article i read they've been working on it for 3 years... it is also planned to be released this december
