We all know that Jay Wilson always delivers.

We're going for a very horror vibe ----> Bright Green Fog
We really are sticking to the roots of Diablo ----> Removes random hostile
We really want deeper strategy ----> Removes corpse based skills, fog of war; adds enemy blips on mini map

I really don't trust Jay Wilson on anything anymore. I really think he has a chance to be the worst thing that even happened to Diablo.

(I'm not saying D3 will be a bad game in anyway. . . but it certainly doesn't feel like a Diablo game. I want Diablo, not Zelda, God of War.)

    Your arguements are very biased.

This is Dark Messiah Might and Magic, this game is NOT for kids and is very gory and violent. Feel the green? There are a lot more of these in the dungeon areas. And no, I'm not against petitioners, but I'm against flawed arguements.

I'm not 100% sure about the rest of the things you say, but I just gotta say the arguements are getting really annoying. When I first saw the petitions going around I was quite impressed with how they photoshopped it, but I was relunctant to sign it because frankly Blizzard has my respect because I know they won't screw up. Then flawed arguements just started piling on and on. I agree if people pointed out the art direction, and how its not too diabloish, but I don't agree with all them, like colors etc.

I hate the large shoulder pads btw.

    Sorry for off topic.

Lanning is too similar to open B.Net. The reason they are holding up all these payment stuff is because they have yet to finalize the multiplayer system. Since D3 focuses on cooperative gameplay, lan would probably be too small a party to enjoy the game fully. Of course we can say that to D3 single player too, but I'm sure they have special modifications to single player, like D1.

Manhunt 2 was going to get an AO rating, they calmed it down, and it got M.

Really? According to some ratings, it still has an AO. But that is probably the countries that were lucky enough to leave it uncut. If the scenes were not blurred and colored, I have no doubt that Manhunt 2 will receive an AO.

Wow alot of off topic here.

Anyways, a game that I believe recieved an AO rating is Manhunt 2. Its not sexual, but its a "satisfying" kill/murder. Here is a link to the first manhunt game.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGuhX5AmjuA&feature=related

The first one is made in 2003, so obviously, it can't be too gruesome with the technology that they have

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1fh-epU8cXs

This is manhunt 2. I need to tell you guys now that the kills you see in this video are all uncencored by coding (cheating/hacking/whatever you call it). If you watch related videos, the kills are actually cencored by blurred colored vision. However, there are some versions that are uncencored. But that is actually really rare and only available in 1 or 2 countries.

D3 is not close to that, D3 does not want to be close to that. Manhunt is more about torturing people and killing them in a violent way, D3 is hacknslash.

The most D3 could get is 18+, but the chances of that is 10%. Its most likely 17+

O what a shame. No druid?

I was having great times with a hybrid character. The shapeshifting feature was a lot of fun. Now that we know it won't be returning, I wonder if there will still be a shapeshifting class? The only 2 shapeshift class i can think of are the Druid and some demon class. But I doubt there will be a demon class, since it won't really fit Diablo.

posted a message on Should gold be important for D3
Golds are often of little use in HackNSlash games. In some games (such as Dungeon Siege), Gold is pretty much only used for your survival, to buy potions. However, now that D3 seems to limit potion use, we could now probably buy a useful thing or 2 with gold. Say each gambling merchant has their own unique special prize which is a very useful and unique item.

If D3 is going to be a large map, let gold be used for unsafe (yes unsafe :P) but fast travelling. You'll be riding a caravan with a bunch others, possibly players, and you can get to a desired outskirt faster, or a desired waypointless mini village. However, you do not skilp straight to the desired location, you view the caravan move towards the desired location, but at a much faster speed than on foot. Meaning there is a chance that you'll encounter some sort of monster that'll force you and your party to leave the caravan and defend.

If anything, Diablo 3 thus far reminds me of Neverwinter Nights.

Wow. Hold it there buddy :D.

Neverwinter Night 2 + Expansion (Mask of the betrayer) is officially one of the biggest game upsets I've seen (I'm assumign you mean neverwinter nights 2 because the first one is a little old :P).

There is one thing you can be certain with D3 that you cannot be certain with Neverwinter Nights 2 . D3 will not crash on the first damn level. And will not require you spend a whole day to find the reason why ^_^.

Back on Topic. Crash Bandicoot does not really remind me of D3. The colors are very common.

Some sexuality there and then is good. Makes the demons more..... less stereotyped. In most games, the male demons we see are all big and red and intimadating, whiles the females are usually more "sexy" and has minimal clothes covering their body. However, when you start having to fight female demons without clothes covering their sweet spots, that gives you a different feeling when you start hacking N slashing.

Actually, I have re-read SDCBloodline's post, and he did not make any statements indicating, as you ascertain, that he misunderstood you. He was merely stating his interpretation of my point, which by the way, was correct.

I mean you no insult when I say this, but I think you must be skimming a bit too fast, because the only one twisting around peoples words here is yourself.

I'm going to try to cut this down to as little as possible to prevent huge posts. But.. for the third time.....

    SDCBloodline quotes me and says:

    Quote from "SDCBloodline" »
Like you, I mean not to demean your statement, however so, I believe you have misinterrpreted his meaning.

A Successful Gameplay model is an entertainment structurally built with well-balanced mechanics forging a pleasureable experience for all, whether one likes getting PKed or Lossing items.

Economy, in simple terms, is a system of bartering or currency in a society.

The two together can, indeed, create a mixture of a stable trading model, money or items, that promotes a favorful/successful gameplay (catering to the diverse needs clearly stated by reading everyone's input to this thread). Of course, given the balanced gameplay features, assisting in mitigating the over-abundance of items, consequently, lessening the effectiveness of the trading, can reversable cause devestating effects on the game content and/or balance.

With that said, his meaning was to, in my opinion, not encourage transfers from between two or more of your "toons" (via mailbox, etc.). Due to undermining the experiences that one would have during the loot obtainment per character. (Disregard his opinion of the reason but focus on what his message is.)

Which was precisely what I said earlier.

I'm going to give a simple example to make things easier to understand.

You (mahamonti) said You hate cheeseburger because it has vegetables in it. I (flamingdts) say this is wrong because vegetables are good for you. Then, someone(SDCBloodline) tells me that I have misinterpreted your meaning because your meaning was to, in his opinion, not like cheeseburgers with vegetables in it. So I say huh?

I don't want to digress, but seriously.... lets not agree to disagree to agree

This is yet again your attempt to twist my words and mold them to your understanding (More of what you would like to hear instead of what I have been saying). I have clearly stated I do not invest time into PKing others. Still you listen not.

On the otherside, one of the chief innovations of Diablo is, of course, the loot system. I personally believe second to that is the contributions of the players - interaction at its finest. Like I have previously stated, I am not a PKer, however, I understand from their point of view. In addition, this style of human interaction blooms the very threshold of MORPGs, Thus, FUN! Whether you are victim or Martyr. Pick a side.

You also are ignorant enough to address yourself as a party or "us". From my knowledge you do not speak on behalf of the Diablo community, nor do you have the mental ability to understand outside of your norm. There are legions of Pkers, and bless my button!, I believe they (here it comes) enjoy Pking because of the reaction of the person sitting on the other side of the barrier we call The Internet. (of course I would assume Pkers are not fueled solely by self-gradification through slaughtering lowbies.)

Right, wrong, black, white are all personal perceptions of what is. You say its not fun but I urge you to look outside you little box and think. . . Yes, to some it is. Maybe getting ambushed isn't fun for you but then again, haver you ever sat on the poachers side instead of the slaughtered side? If not, what gives your authority to speak out?

For you to compare Diablo Pking with these low grade urban games is shameful. I will not comment any further except to ask you to retract that statement.

Concluding my rant, I apologize to others that have to witness this. Flamingdts, focus your energy on one of your easily manipulated friends, you hold no sway on me. ;)

Wow getting hostile ay?. First of all, For God Sakes speak casually for once, this is a Diablo fan site, not a chaos theory discussion site.

My friend, ignorance really is a bliss. There is no need to deny what you said..... for the second time...... Please stop misunderstanding me and yourself :(.

You yourself claim you have not fallen to a successful PKer. Well done. You also claim you know the feeling of being hunted down, Well Done. But if you have never experienced it, you do not know it. I have not been twisting your words, you have been twisting my words and your own words. In fact your first ever post was a reply to mine, but yet somehow you manage to misunderstand me and the person I was replying to.

I address the party as us because there is obviously a party in this very thread that do not support your ideas. Therefore, I used to words us as to speak for a few others, and those few others clearly do not enjoy the idea of killing lower levels, which was exactly what I said.

If you have all forgotten, Diablo is a MORPG (Multiplayer Role-playing Game).

Now truely digest these points. . .

Done? Good. Now when you walk to a supermarket or to the toliet there are risks,

Indeed you urge me to look outside the box a little bit, since this is also what you did. But your comparisons are flatout weird. What does entering the supermarket or toilet have to do with anything?

I'm sorry, maybe its just me. I'm not one to curse, but your smartass attitude is pissing me off. Not to mention, you contradict yourself time and time again and digress.

I've never been a victim of a successful Pker, so I do not know all of the emotions that flourish from that unfortunate event. However, I do know of the adrenaline rush.

Sorry for my attitude, but you claim you are not one to devote time on PKing, nor are you one to have been sucessfully been pked. So what are you? If you are not on either side, then you have pretty much no experience at all in this matter. What are you trying to say? That you can look outside the box when you have no experience on whats inside?

Lastly, me comparing D3 to rockstar games? I'm merely saying if you (not you but everyone) enjoy ambushing others, dominance over other players, then go play Rockstar games. In no way did I compare D3 to rockstar in anyway.

SDCBloodline, you have failed to read my post for the second time, yet you claimed I failed to read yours...........
