Aug 22, 2008nemesislives posted a message on Diablofans - WWI Card Tyrael Pet ContestOne thing that I would like to see in Diablo 3 would be enemy raids on the town. For once instead of a huge army that just sits outside of town have then randomly attack the city. That would create more randomized attacks plus give the players a feeling that they are actually fighting for something instead of just killing things cause Cain told you to. Make the NPS's die if they get overwhelmed. Instead of always hunting the enemy, have the enemy once in a while hunt and follow the player. This would give the enemy NPC's some intelligence instead of just sitting in one spot waiting for a hero to come and kill them. Just imagine sitting at the gates of Act 5 in Diablo 2 as the huge army sitting outside town tries to raid it. Players as well as city guards defending it from a seemingly endless army that attacks. And if you fail, you loose the city, of course until you leave the game and join a new one.Posted in: News

Ok so this is from Wiki
During the end of Act 5, Tyrael destroys the Worldstone in order to prevent Baal from corrupting it any further. He claims that this will prevent the forces of hell from flooding into the mortal world - by destroying the Worldstone, its uncorrupted energies will be released and spread throughout the world of Sanctuary, thus maintaining the boundaries between Sanctuary, the High Heavens, and Hell. As Tyrael is probably the angel pictured on Diablo III's website, it is likely that Tyrael and the consequences of the Worldstone's destruction will play a major role in that game.

If thats true (i never read the books) then i think that has to be what it is. But how was Diablo frozen in the lake if he is killed and soulstone destroyed in D2?
Also this would explain y Blizzard had the splach art of the demond breaking out of the ice.

In Act 5 of D2 Tyrial tells you that the WorldStone connects the Mortal Realm to the Spirit Realm. That is why after he destroys the Worldstone I didn't think demonds or angels could go back and forth to heaven/hell and earth.
