So, I want to post again here. I said I'm okey with this exploit if Blizzard will keeps him in game until the patch. Then will start new Era. This would be competitive for me. Im sad for Russians on EU.
Now? Leaderboards are destroyed on season and on NS too. (prob. just on EU NS)
As Bagstone has pointed out, at the very least NS will still be a competitive place, and we don't know yet whether 64 can be beaten on season as well. To me it seems quite possible, so the competition there is still alive. Only thing that's different is time investment: ZE members have spent weeks figuring Sever mechanics out, beating 66 / 64 will take months without it. But in the end they have put in the time to do it, took a huge risk of falling behind because of that (since everyone else kept pushing or farming) and they got rewarded for that. And yet, (almost) no one is excluded in the competition to beat them. Also, see it from the point of view of our members: If everyone stops trying to beat them, they have no one to compete with, which is boring and disheartening. Everyone else can still try to go for rank 1 or at least "rank 1 without Sever".
I have information the RU group can do only 65 as maximum in trials. I don't see difference between extremely difficult and destroyed. Russians sent "letter" to Blizzard with QQ.
0dog has no huge inpact since 1-500 rank is done in 90% with 0dog. If you're good and want to have rank, you can find party. It's about time of other players to react and take actions. There were only around 15 ppl who knew how the 100% chance to proc Sever worked.
It's very likely that we're not supposed to get the keys we need to go for rank 1 via trials. Remember season 1? Highest key was 55, which was pretty damn rare, even 54 was difficult on ns, yet people still cleared 56 before the trial exploits. No need to QQ (even though I'd like to have some free gem upgrades as well). I agree on ther zerodog part though.
Quote from beast_of_boredom»Well there went my no-bow DH. I play solo and this thread has apparently killed a fun facet of my gameplay. Let people play how they want to play. Just because some folks get their tighty whiteys in a bunch over a Grift means that I have to be further pigeon-holed into a linear playstyle? Major disappointment.
I appreciate that everyone wants an even playing field, but imho the leaderboards are intended for those who are "leaders" as in innovators, folks who have progressed beyond the average be it via a novel use of equipment combinations, an understanding and exploitation of existing game mechanics or a combination. Isn't that the whole idea? Anyone who gets uptight about that is clearly just sour that they didn't do it first (aka not a leader). And (I don't usually do this because I am a big Bliz fan) shame on blizzard for caving to the complaints when what they should have done was wait for some entrepreneuring gamer to find an even more powerful exploit (I guarantee there are more and stronger out there).
GG to anybody who takes what we've got already and makes something more out of it.
I feel for you. I always wanted to try the Grimsever, and with the renewed attention this weapon has now, I felt it was a good time to go for it. But you can see it this way: It might actually increase the chances of Blizzard creating a melee / knives / impale themed set for DH, since this play style is gone now, and I guess they are well aware that there are people like you who feel robbed of their identity when playing this class.
Discussion about removing or not removing leaderboards with sever. Triggered by Gabynator.

He is asking to wipe his own record
This post is just pathetic. Did he also ask about removing his GR 55 because it was exploited? To me it seems he is just a bad loser and salty that he couldn't figure it out in time.

While I found this post visually stunning, the content is lacking. OP, are you Michael Bay?

Okay, so with the new attention focused on Sever and its mechanics, and now that we've lost what was apparently the only viable melee weapon for this class (and yes, I get it that we're supposed to be ranged. once a black sheep, always a black sheep i guess), I feel even more compelled to get the community's feedback on what could be done to create a viable t6 melee demon hunter. I'm not looking to clear GR50+; I just want to try something different. I'm hoping this thread will start a dialogue toward some novel, and ultimately utilitarian build options for those of us who want to play our way - not the way we're told we have to play (by the devs, by the streamers, or anybody else).
I appreciate your feedback and am looking forward to your thoughts.
Cheers

I haven't seen anything in patch notes that the Istvan's Paired Blades set bonus is getting a change, but I thought I read somewhere on the that it might have a new synergy/utility with upcoming patch 2.2, potentially with Monk? Personally I am a fan of the set as I like DW, especially on melee classes but have found this set heretofore underpowered. Has anyone testing on PTR seen any changes or new applications for this set?
