You're conflating TL and TL2 - a game with under a year of development and zero budget and one with over two years and twice the size of team.
Save the comparisons until you've actually played both, as Flux has, or, even better, save the comparisons until you've played both in more than the first few hours of gameplay.
In the meantime, this should be moved to the torchlight subdirectory.
Good lord man, you act like they are taking a shot at your manhood or something. It's a freaking video game.
I think some people really, really enjoyed the bliz glory years where they created franchises like D, SC, War, and the original release of WoW.
Seeing the company since then, and their change of their values is a really heartbreaking, personal thing when those games were like the tv/movie/sports for your entire teenage years. Is that a little sick, and immature? Sure. But it is what it is, and is a powerful testimony to how great those games were.
Inevitably, anyone who has worked in the real world knows that big money ruins everything. But that doesn't make it less sad.
I don't think anyone, inside or outside the walls, really considered just how much the RMAH will have added to the development time. But that's what happens when upper management pushes an idea down. A few currencies, a dozen countries, hundreds of relevant laws, and the need for the complete security that comes with real money. It must be frustrating for the dev team - they could probably release this thing in october if it was just a matter of delivering the single player game. Instead, March is optimistic.

With today's news, I guess that isn't the case. What's next? A permanent pet in D3?

They made a named subdirectory here for a reason.
I was wondering how long it would take for this place to lose all of its manners after the lead mod left.

Right, but if you buy a thousand for $5, you get a free town portal scroll. Such a deal.

Not bad for shakycam screen vids.
