I think that's a somewhat unfair assessment. True, you could guess who +'ed you if we had a list like this, but people would still only be able to give others +rep. So the only scheme people could come up with would be "I rep you, you rep me". And that can still be achieved right now through a simple PM.

The core problem of the older system was that it showed where you received negative rep. Any person is more or less going to react negatively to being down-repped, and that information was definitely something people used in order to guess who did it to them. But very few are going to be upset for not being repped to begin with.

That being said, unless such a function is available in IPBoard, there not much we could do even if we wanted to.

Thanks Phrozen, this is pretty much how I wanted to respond but I didn't really have any knowledge of the older system.

An in-game item that you will always use would be nice, so it's easy to tell who's an unclean scrub and who's a CE owning stud muffin.

Like a banner? Non-combat item that everyone will see. Fair and makes everyone jealous.

Well, it's not really an item, but you get the idea.

The heck is wrong with this generation calling "mods" when they're just talking about modifying the UI? Stop putting both in the same basket. These aren't mods.

I see your point though UI mods*

    I liked the fluff in d2 :(.

Good job on the video though, I agree with the split screen idea (not for the entire episode but maybe a last look to compare them side by side). Post here when the next one is up!

First and foremost what Blizzard could have done better is to allow mods. :olddiablo: Much better looking personalized UI gone, we are stuck with the giant orbs on the sides of unmodifiable bars ;)

Mods would ruin the game. The last thing I want to do is have to DL some mod to show people my gear score or something stupid. Plus, Blizzard can't balance mods, so the best and easiest way is to just not allow them. No one will have an advantage over anyone.

I'd like to point out that I also don't think the skill bar looks particularly appealing either, but I would pick it over mods any day.

posted a message on Caption Contest Winner?
I think you guys are just upset that you lost or did not fully understand the competition because you did not read all of the rules.

Also, humor is subjective so just because your personal opinion is that it isn't funny does not mean it isn't funny. Obviously the mods found it funny and I also think it is one of the the funniest I had seen in the entire competition.

Of course everyone is going to say it's unfair, but that's more than likely influenced by not being the winner.

Opting out of the next beta contest isn't going to win you anything other than a bitter attitude. If anything you should take what you learned from the first competition and try to make a better entry in the second one and have a chance at winning. It's meant to be fun, enjoy yourself and be creative.

But we're not saying it should display who gave you rep, it's about which post received the rep.
Like, clicking on the total rep in your account and then displaying all your messages that got you a +rep. I think that's even going to help people see what kind of posts give them +rep so they can self-improve towards receiving more. :]

Yeah, I don't want or care who gave me the +1, I'd just like to know which posts someone liked enough to give me the rep.

I am not sure if there is some negative consequence that we don't know about for this, since you guys seem to think it would cause more bad than good.

I don't want -1 or to know who gave me the rep, just which post someone gave me rep for, I mean I can find it even without the feature if I really wanted to, but it just takes more time. I hope this will clear any confusion.

What is your favorite snack, at this point in time?

Right now, I love eating apples and peanut butter. PB & A?
