im going to be using skype personally. ivve recently quit using ventrilo while i play wow unless i absolutely have to for a raid... skype is sooo much better quality. and since at any one time you only need to talk to 3 other people at a time in D3 i dont see any advantage to mumble or Vent.
comes down to personal preference. Keep in mind that Ventrilo has a push to talk, or voice activated, and skype is mic open 100% of the time unless u mute it.
i absolutely love my G35... ive also heard the corsair HS1 is a good headset.
personally if you like to listen to a lot of music, get a separate set of headphones and headset for around your neck as was stated above... headsets (especially gaming headsets) are normally not made to be the absolute best audio since for the price you have to put in a mic too. just my $.02
but if theyre revealing the beta on the 27th(to the media at the conference), which is what theyve said is a sneak peak at the beta (as far as i know.) then wouldnt all the systems be in place? maybe the 27th is they day they reveal the last systems and on the 1st we will know about it. and then maybe the actual beta release will come at the conference call in mid august?
these are just my thoughts, and are purely speculation. something to consider. correct me if i am wrong.
another question, is there gonna be USWEST and USEAST split like it was in D2??? also, in SC2, i cant talk to my friend who plays in australia on battlenet because he plays on whatever servers and im on north american servers... is this going to be the same way between west/east if they split them?
figured i would stop in and say hello, im new to the forum, not new to diablo, although i didnt get super hardcore into it like i know alot of people did. I never did ubers or anything like that, just hell cows and MFing for fun. that story will be different with diablo 3 as over the past 7-8 years now ive gotten so much deeper into the gaming scene, and i plan to be as deeply involved in this game as i can make myself probably with multiple characters. I've always enjoyed PvM over PvP but if the balance is there, and i find a class that i like in PvP i wont shy from it. I played WoW for 3 or so years, before that it was all shooters(cs1.6 CoD4 MW2 and Black Ops now.) and D2 LoD. Ive been reading for about 4 days straight, i found this site through force's videos on youtube, so thank you force for bringing me to the wealth of information. Anyways, i do have a few noob questions.(atleast i assume they are noob because i dont see anyone else asking because i figure its common knowledge.)
1. Runewords gone? i know about the runestones and stuff, but will there be runes in the game( tal ort ral, those kinds of runes.)
2. Naming of toons--- has there been any insight as to if we will still have underscores in our names if we want? or maybe numbers?
i have more questions, but of course cant think of them, they must not be too important i guess... lol.
the balance will be made after release via patchs.
Honestly, i will have to agree here because of my time in WoW , where it seems no matter how much beta(or public test) they do, they always have a nerf for the overpowered classes within 2 weeks(or never.... damn DKs...lol). making sure a game is balanced for all classes but still fun and keeping the feeling the class is meant to have can be a difficult thing, and for the most part, alot of things wont spring up until the game is released and more people start reporting/bitching on forums... me personally i dont care as long as the game runs and i can blow stuff up without game crashes.
i personally think we will get act 1 until near the end and it will stop short and send you to act 2 until close to the end also, leaving out the bosses. i believe the beta will be there for matchmaking testing and to make sure classes work as intended and there arent any huge software flaws. its been said by bashiok i believe that they are going to keep all the surprises for after the official launch so i doubt the beta will be much to go on, although more insight will be given because theres no way to not reveal more about the game in a beta without making it a hollowed shell of a game....
What do you guys know about the steel series gaming mice? i want to get the diablo 3 mouse when its released to replace my logitech G3 which, needless to say, is getting old but has been a great mouse for 3 years straight now, gaming FPS's and WoW. im kind of a die hard logitech fan(g15 and g35 are in my arsenal) so im kind of looking at the G9x as a replacement, but all the logitech mice out now seem an odd shape for how i hold my mice. i never liked the g5 for example(hence why i got the G3 instead those 3 years ago) and the reason i look to the G9x is for the swapable "form" it has.
anyways, the steelseries diablo mouse looks like a good shape and size for my preferences, i just dont know how the steelseries stuff holds up. the most i ever owned from them is a mousepad, which is great BTW.
