What I did to get my armor up is three things.
1) Enchantress.
The enchantress is a must imo because she gives you more armor AND more attack speed. If you are surviving off of your LoH, more attack speed is always good
2) Lots of Dex. I bought weapons with lower damage (700) but 300 dex. This gives me more dodge chance and helps my 3rd step.
3) Seize the Initiative.
Dex = Armor.
I haven't cleared act 3, because I've spent all my gold on my other characters, but I defeated everything up to and including Ghom.
Dual wield of course.

I think this build is pretty solid, and would work better if I had maybe 500 more LoH, more attack speed and more damage.
At level 30 you don't need the AH. Just play through the game and check vendors once in a while if you must. You can also use the Blacksmith but just don't make 30 copies of something just to get that Vit/Dex combo. I would suggest not using the AH until inferno, or hell act3 if you must. You'll end up spending too much time there...
It's not 9 attack speed because a sword has naturally a slower attack speed. It's 0.03 attack speed. And yes, the 63 str > 0.03 attack speed imo. Also the extra 300 dps will help during whirlwind.
Let's think for a moment here.
There are thousands of players farming inferno, and because of this there are a plethora of mediocre items, which become worthless (i.e. 800 dps one handers).
Then you come along and have troubles in inferno, and go to the AH. The first thing you look for is a weapon, and you see that 800dps one hander for 10k and buy it. Wow that was cheap, amazing.
Then your go on your merry way and purchase a whole set of armor very cheaply, but in comparison to your previous armor it is godlike.
Now you set out to farm, trying to make some money for high end items. You farm for days on end but you just can't find any good items, what gives? All you find is crappy items that sell for <50k, yet you've played so many hours. The reason you aren't finding upgrades isn't because you are super unlucky, it is because the base that you have started at, and that you must upgrade from is already at that mediocre level, not the crap level.
The point I'm trying to get across is this: The reason you aren't finding upgrades is because of your use of the AH and because the AH is filled with cheap, mediocre items that thousands of farmers find every day. If you try to progress through inferno without the use of the AH whatsoever, I guarantee you when that 500dps one hander, which you would now call crap, drops, you will be overjoyed that you can finally upgrade your 300dps Hell weapon.
If you have the money to get 650% crit damage and still have other stats, such as dex, vit, all res, etc. Then that doesn't mean it's overpowered, it means you have too much money.
Well he probably played hundreds of hours of it before it was released, for testing purposes. Even if the game was in a different state at the time, I'm not sure if he'd be still super interested in it.
I've seen it more than I've bought it, because I think to myself "what is wrong with this item that makes it worth so much less" and 10 seconds later someone eles has bought it. But my success with a missing digit only happened once, from what I remember.
Sockets at least 4-6 times.
Too lazy for pictures, but I did abuse some empty socket armors getting 400% profits, or more.
I've also been lucky catching a missing digit, such as 50k for 500k.
In regards to the skill Absorb in this screenshot here http://media.diablofans.com/images/news/exp/incoming.jpg would this mean that DoT damage to your character would do very little damage seeing how DoTs do small damage but hit very rapidly? I believe that DoTs damage every half second, so as long as you don't take 1652 damage per second from the DoT you'll take no damage?
The chance of you getting an ilvl 63 item is dependent on what mlvl the monster is, and since in higher monster powers they don't make mlvl68 monsters, you won't see more 63s. However since there will be a buff to mf, you will see better 63s.
The fact that monster power 1 is weaker than current inferno, but makes all monsters mlvl 63 seems like a huge benefit for weaker players, because they can just do act 1 but get act 3 quality drops.
