with this messed up mechanism you'll probably see the other players walking from one place to another with no apparent reason (while in truth the actually collecting dropped loot only they can see).
I've wondered how this would look too, but I'll reserve judgement until I see how it looks in beta. Either way, I definitely prefer this system for reasons already stated by others.
I think I might look in to a cheap laptop for internet browsing (and to "bait" keyloggers) and then just keep my current rig for strictly playing games.
If you were super paranoid and didn't want to shell out cash for another system you could browse the interwebs in a virtual machine.
edit: Or you could just run things like Adblock plus and noscript.
Use an authenticator, virus/malware/etc protection, and keep a low balance in your "e account." I've been playing MMO's since Everquest started in '99 and I've never been hacked. That said, it's inevitable this will happen, but there's a lot you can do to protect yourself. Blizzard has also said they will have a support team in place to address this issue as well.
Thanks for the help everyone. I ended up ordering a Razer Blackwidow Ultimate today. My reasons are as follows.
1)I want a keyboard that supports macros
2)I want a keyboard that is backlit
3)I have been reading about mechanical keyboards and now I think they are the best option
4)I want a keyboard with the ability to shut off the windows key
I think with the reasons that I listed above, the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate is a no brainer. Thanks for the information and helping me make my decision. I knew next to nothing about mechanical keyboards and didn't even know that they were available for gaming keyboards prior to reading these posts.
A fair bit of warning. There have been reports that the spacebar will push down the alt keys when you press it down, but I have not experienced this defect. If you do experience it, return it right away and get a new one. It's possible that they have already addressed this issue though. I think you'll be very happy with your new keyboard! Definitely looks good sitting next to my DeathAdder.

Damn, this isn't an Esport. You don't need to spend like 90 bucks on a keyboard for Diablo. Also, most of your major actions are done by the mouse, anyway.
Need? No. But having nice peripherals can enhance your gaming experience. Pretty much all of your interaction with a computer is done through your hands. Might as well get a nice keyboard/mouse/etc to make it that much more enjoyable!
Recently bought a Razer Blackwidow and absolutely love it compared to my Logitech G15. Mechanical keyboards are definitely the way to go nowadays.
I bought a Blackwidow (Ultimate) recently too and I know they are looked down upon by some in the mechanical keyboard circle, but I've been extremely pleased. Gorgeous keyboard and I haven't had any build problems that some have reported. I hate coming in to work and using this crummy membrane keyboard.
I don't think there's anything wrong with using a little D3 time to de-stress here and there, just make sure to keep your priorities in check. Best of luck with med school.
You referring to the HP as a tablet really threw me off at first. I was thinking it was something like an iPad.
From what I can tell from google, the Intel HD 3000 doesn't really pack a lot of power for gaming but it seems to manage to pull off most newer games on medium to low settings. Combined with the i5 processor and 8 gigs of memory, I think this would give you a better gaming experience than your current desktop.
While I generally agree with not clicking on links in emails, it's pretty easy to mouse over a hyperlink and see exactly where it's going. Unfortunately though, most people aren't very well versed in internet security and it's better to be safe than sorry.
I wish you guys would stop locking all the Gamescom threads in order to push traffic to this topic when you don't even move the relevant information along with it. You should put the Gamescom presentation video in the OP.
Does it seem strange that the 3 page topic in General about this was closed so that traffic could be routed to a news post put up 2 hours later? Just seems like it interrupts the flow of discussion. Haven't been around here long so just wondering if that's normal.
