Build Guide
Use Zodiac to reset both Molten Impact and Flash for increased damage. Zodiac practically resets Flash instantly. It's nice. Zodiac will also reset Prism, and provide both resource and shielding. Spells that proc Zodiac include RoF and Flash.
High CDR is equipped to manage the longer cooldowns of Prism and Molten Impact, lessening the need for Zodiac procs. The AS from Gogok also assists with Zodiac procs.
Halo / APD / OID / Mantle for defense.
CoE / OID / Mantle / Trapped for multipliers.
Trick I've found is to line up as many meteor casts in the CoE fire phase, and withhold casting meteor in the lightning phase. Cast liberally, depending on how often you teleport, when in the other phases.
Best cube armor piece I've found so far is Ashnagarr's Blood Bracers. Even with those, I felt UA to be the best 4th passive.
Meteor accounts for about 25-30% of your damage in this build.
Swaps:
EDIT (4/21/2017): Taeguk instead of Stricken would probably work well also. Consider this for swap as well.
- Swap the cubed armor (Ashnagarr's) for one of:
- Nemesis Bracer
- Leoric's Crown
- Swap Gogok for Pain Enhancer. Note: only viable if you also use Leoric's in the cube.
- Swap Blur or UA for Galvanizing Ward.
If you ever played EB wiz in 4 men party, you would know, that it's simply not viable due to massive lags. Therefore, it's not a hybrid build, but rather solo. I'm talking about GRs here, where you group multiple mobs all together and it takes time to kill them.
Yes, this is a solo build. Filled out so many builds last night my eyes were starting to waver. Selected the wrong entry. Thanks! I'll update.
I was unable to complete a GR75 wasp / shaman rift that spawned. This is because the build relies on enemy elites standing still to some degree. The other clears were completed, but a little slower than seen here.
Ability to clear at this speed also depends on power level. My test setup here is about 12k INT / 1k paragon. Ancient Woh, but not perfect stats.
Unity is an adequate swap until you get used to the mechanics, but I'd stick with CoE if you want to push highest. I was actually trying to fit in Aquila, but the AP costs are just too high.
Sleet Storm is similarly expensive to fit into the build, and especially noticable damage drop on RGs. However, other ray of frost runes can be managed with careful play. Cold blood ensures that you'll be able to proc etched and zodiac without interruption, and also has the nice side effect of forcing you to get close to targets, where your EB can hit them.
couldn't figure out what you're using to proc cold Tal when using Flame Ward :/
Awesome build! I was getting very frustrated with the clunky archon builds where I had to keep an eye on so much bullshit to make it work just for a few seconds at time. This one I can just macro up and spam 3 spells and focus on positioning. Went from max GR65 to 70 instantly.
I cleared 77 on the PTR with this build. I don't have the time to fully gear / spec out every build I theorize. For benchmarking, I choose a GR to clear at, usually a few levels lower than the max I can go with that build, and I optimize my gear until I get the best clear speed at that level possible.
With full ancients and full augments, 82 is possible, even at just over 1k paragon.
It goes unsaid, but the GR rating applied is what is felt is attainable within a season if a person were to put good effort into it. That also means more practice, skill, and more fishing for the perfect rift.
At no point were any clams harmed in creation or discussion of this build.
