Build Guide
Welcome to UPDATED version of my Akkhan Invoker "MELEE BOMBER" build!
Cleared GR103 in patch 2.6.1 with just p1300!
DISCUSSION HERE: https://us.battle.net/forums/en/d3/topic/20749206443?page=1
GENERAL TIPS:
The build is very density dependent (much more than 6pc Invoker)!
1) Always fight in density
2) Avoid fighting lonely elite/blues. Lure them into the packs of trash.
3) Try to maintain at least 50% cdr and AS MUCH ATTACK SPEED as possible. The faster you attack, the faster you apply thorns damage/area damage through HACK and 2pc Invoker.
4) Since in density you will reset cooldowns fast with Akarat's Awakening, it is possible to sacrifice even more CDR for attack speed/all res/Area_damage.
5) RGs without adds will take MUCH more time to kill.
6) Arcane/Frozen is bad as usual. Also skip Shielding.
7) Area Damage is very strong in this build. So i suggest sacrificing some CDR for AOE on weapon, and CDR/AS/AOE gloves would be great too, as well as AOE shoulders wtih CDR and bomb.
8) Secondary thorns rolls everywhere.
9) Prioritize rolls: a) BOMB CDR c) Attack Speed d) AREA DAMAGE
10) 6 seconds Belt of the Trove will give you around 25% more damage across the rift against 8 sec belt.
11) If you have troubles recovering life/surviving in density, roll LIFE ON HIT on Weapon, instead of attack speed.
SKILL OPTIONS:
1) Laws of Valor - Invincible instead of Decaying Strength. Good recovery and high attack speed boost, but mobs will hit like trucks. If you have crazy high paragon, and you are tanking damage fine with very high base armor, this is very VERY good option for recovery. In the highest GRs all you will need is recovery and as much Life on Hit as possible. Invincible also boosts your attack speed by up to 23% when empowered. It's a crazy DPS boost.
2) Provoke - Hit Me instead of Laws. If you have really low block chance (50 and lower), this will be better than Decaying Strength.
Thank you!

I like this build - thanks for this inspiration with Bombardment. I was a bit lucky and found all necessary pieces (good pig sticker, no hack) in Season 9 after one week with rather casual play.
I was wondering if the new Akkhans 7th piece amulet could be an option to bring this set to 6/4 Akkhan/Invoker, with CoE compensating the damage loss of Endless Walk set a bit and the 4pc Invoker increasing toughness also when standing.
Hi there! Thanx!
A6/I4 is not worth it. 4 pieces of Invoker just give toughness and nothing else. YOu can just use UNity and have same result COE cannot really compensate EW. Just adds more frustration because you need to time attacks to physical rotation just like in 6pc Invoker or LOn Bomb.
The power of the build is in the ease of use + incredible damage scaling with density.
Just found a usable amulet and tried for myself. You are right: toughness is through the roof (feels good) but DPS is considerably worse (doesn't feel good). If you have troubles completing EW (as I had, damn amulet did not want to drop, ever) it is an okay alternative, I suppose. You can probably combine Unity with 4I as well and facetank everything, but it will simply take too long.
Question for those for played PTR? How does this compare to a full Invokers set now? Both Akkhan and Invokers were buffed and I’m really curious how they compare now.
