Secondary resists where possible, also some level of +Pickup radius is nice to have.

Diamond in helm for CDR. +Max AP on wand / source.

CDR is key for gearing. Recommended CDR is 58.47% without Gogok included, and 64.7% with Gogok included. This is with every gear piece except amulet and weapon rolled for CDR.

AS on weapon to help stack up to max APS faster.

AD is between 70% and 90%. This is to increase the damage of your archon attacks, not chantodos. Can opt for INT or AD on glove. INT is likely the all-around better option. In the video I was testing with AD on glove in place of INT (quad gloves).

LoH is a very important affix. I suggest placing this on weapon.

The Cold% on bracer and necklace will tell Vyr2 which element to deal damage with. It takes your max elemental damage and uses that element type.

If you're feeling low on VIT you can always put Amethyst in pants.

CoE is preferred to be worn, since you can roll a Trifecta with this ring, whereas with Zodiac you cannot. That being said, if you do not have a trifecta or really good CoE with a near max affix legendary, wear the Zodiac instead.

If you can't survive, and you can't reset archon effectively, and AD in paragon isn't going to do you any good. This is why I suggest LoH and RCR before AD. I also prefer AS ahead of CHC and CHD, for quicker stacking of chantodos and archon.

Build Guide

Vyr Cold Archon (no MH). We slot high CDR, using Archon punch and the Wave from Chantodos to deal damage up close. Quick resets in combination with punching allow for higher stack counts. The inclusion of CoE increases the damage quite a bit.

Keep archon blast on autocast - use either numlock or scripting. When moving, use the beam to continue stacking Vyr6. You can also beam if a high value target is farther than punch distance, but still within chantodos distance, and you really want to leverage the oculus buff. Beam is also useful when moving or grouping up monsters, or if your stack count is low (reposition to avoid dying).

You can also use force stand to punch in place. This will get you higher shielding from Deflection and make it easier to stand still when in density.

Once you gain enough archon stacks, your AS will hit the 5 APS / 15 Ticks / s cap, which will help stack archon, and recover with LoH and deflection much faster. With AS on weapon, and paragon, you will hit this breakpoint at 158 archon stacks. With Gogok included, you'll only need 143 stacks to hit the breakpoint.

Recommended CDR is 58.47% without Gogok included, and 64.7% with Gogok included. This is with every gear piece except amulet and weapon rolled for CDR.

Cast both Safe Passage and Absolute Zero to get more DR when out of archon, and get a big damage boost when entering archon.

You should use the arcane blast attack when in archon. Stand near enemies to hit them, this will increase your archon stack count faster, and the blast also freezes enemies thanks to Vyr2.

Life on Hit and Deflection are slotted to ensure adequate recovery. Ashnagarr's Blood Bracer stack up the shielding from this ability quite a bit. When combined with higher Vyr6 stacks, this makes you pretty tanky. Note however, that when you are at lower stack counts, you will be more vulnerable.

Stand in your follower's oculus spawns when possible.

Try not to move around too much if you can help it, Safe Passage will also preserve your EW damage bonus.

I typically hunt for open maps with lots of high progression, smaller to medium sized mobs. Considering that we have The Furnace equipped, it becomes quite beneficial to engage elites. Try to pull multiple elite packs together to gain more progress. Be wary of shielding, juggernaut, and ranged elite packs though, you may still have to skip these, depending on what type of elite they are.

Static Discharge is chosen for it's proc rate to restore arcane power through APoC. Static Discharge is also the spell we use to proc zodiac.

Audacity is slotted to provide maximum damage to enemies up close. Unstable Anomaly is also great for preserving your stacks should you accidently die at low stack count. Unwavering Will is a nice damage and defensive boost for this build, since we'll be standing still quite a bit.

Resetting archon quickly is important, because we want to stack up as many archon stacks via our Vyr6 bonus as possible, while still hitting as close as possible to our 20 stack count on Chantodos buff. Higher uptime of archon means more stacks, which means you gain more damage and defense.

Defense:

Not a perfect map, perfect gear, or good clear on my part even, so I'll rate GR106+. That's with about 1300 paragon, 17k INT, high level augments, better gear, etc.

Alternate options:

  • Blur (swap out UW for more passive defense)
  • APDs (swap out Ashnagarr's)
