A Combination of Ice & Lightning! A very challenging, time consuming but overall very fun build to play if you want to play a Cold Variation of the Wizard. This is a Legacy Of Nightmares Build so the end goal is for all items to be ancient or primal with augments. This build works great with the required items on T13. All items that are marked adequate are to be temporary only until you can find the best of the required build items. The Unstable Scepter combined with the Etched Sigil / Triumvirate give a massive amount of damage when stacked especially when combined with Nilfur's Boast and its meteor damage.

Also, there is a Hardcore Variation by using Firebird's Plume for the helm and Firebird's Pinions for shoulders or you can use Firebird's Breast and cube the Aquila Cuirass . This combination works excellent in Hardcore mode giving you an extra life if all goes wrong.

Paragon Priorities

Core

Movement Speed
Maximum Resource
Primary Stat
Vitality

Offense

Attack Speed
Critical Hit Chance
Critical Hit Damage
Cooldown Reduction

Defense

Resist All
Armor
Life Regeneration
Life

Utility

Life on Hit
Area Damage
Resource Cost Reduction
Gold Find

Core - Work on maxing out Movement Speed and Maximum Resource first, then move onto Intelligence and forget about Vitality as you should have a substantial amount to play with (If you have over a thousand paragon points then feel free to always add more Vitality. But I completed this build with 800.)

Offense - Attack Speed and CHC are the most important followed by CHD than lastly Cool-down Reduction. But because this build is a channeling build that rely s on Etched Sigil, Cool down is not really that important.

Defense - Sink everything you got into Resist All & Armor both evenly till maxed. Life Regeneration next, and lastly, Life.

Utility - Life on Hit First for survive-ability, then Area Damage, Resource Cost Reduction (Not that Important if you are using Hergbrash's Binding), and lastly Gold Find.

Like I mentioned before this Build works Beautifully With just 800 Paragon Points.

Build Guide

When building this set you'll want to use the following gems: Amethyst in the Helm, All Topaz in Torso and Legs. As for Legendary Gems you'll want Molten Wildebeest's Gizzard, Bane of the Trapped & Taeguk (I tried messing around with a maxed out Ice Blink but it's just not worth it unless your gonna run Halo of Arylis (Chilling Aura) shield option). Augmentations to your ancients when your ready should be With Topaz (Intelligence) except for both rings which should be Amethyst (Vitality).

Note: On the required Hellfire Amulet: I know its hard to roll an ancient but that is half the fun and reward of this build. It can be one of the following Passives: Blur, Cold Blooded, Paralysis, Unstable Anomaly (which you definitely want either as your amulet or one of passive skills if playing on Hardcore), Audacity or Elemental Exposure (always a popular choice)

The hardest items to roll perfect are the Depth Diggers at 100% (which without, your primary skill is a joke). Frostburn Gloves you really want at the maximum 20% Cold Skill Damage (which also applies to both the Amulet and Bracers)

Note on Teleport: I know a lot of Wizards don't like being without "Teleport" (I don't mind so much). So If you really want that to be a feature of this build the only slot that can be dropped is Magic Weapon (Force Weapon) for Teleport (Wormhole, or whatever suits your fancy), but you'll take a 20% decrease in damage.

As for The Cube:

Weapon - Triumvirate or Etched Sigil (whichever rolls better for you) Armor - Aquila Curiass, Frostburn Gloves, Leoric's Crown, Depth Digger's, Hergbrash's Binding, Nilfur's Boast or Illusionary Boots. And for Jewelry: Halo of Karini (or with the Slow/Chilled Variation, Halo of Arylis).

I hope you enjoy playing this build. Playing with the whole required build you should have no problem taking on GR 70's.
