Say, for simplicity, you have a sword that does 9-10 damage. And you are using a skill that does say, 110% Weapon Damage. So you would be doing 9.9 - 11 damage per swing base on this.
But how does Strength (Or intelligence) factor in. Lets say each point in str. adds 1% damage, butis this adding to the skills base 110% calculation or does it get applied to the damage output after the skill damage is applied.
Basically, would it be 111% weapon damage now? Or 9.9 - 11 damage multiplied by strength bonus? Because the second way would equal a higher out put of damage.

I can't confirm it, but as far as we know the coefficient from str/dex/int is applied after the base damage +dmg x spell coefficient.
It would look like this:
((Weapon Base Damage + Any extra damage from rings etc) x spell coefficient) x stat coeffcient = damage you deal
You can also calculate dps based on attack speed and crit.
Speed:
Damage you deal x hits per second coefficient = "long term" dps
Crit:
Damage you deal x (crit chance x crit damage increase) = "long term" dps
So with speed and crit you have:
Damage you deal x (crit chance x crit damage increase) x hits per second coefficient = accurate "long term" dps
It is applied to the damage after the skill is applied
this is so you can't take a skill that does 45% weapon dmg, stack a whole bunch of strength and have it be only slightly worse then your skill that does 220% weapon dmg.
the skill also affects elemental dmg, but elemental dmg on your off hand is not applied to your main hand swings.

hope that is as clear as mud.
Now for a wizard using orb you do apply every +dmg on the orb.
