GW2 has zero downtime. Yeah a MMO with $%@#$# ZERO downtime. Ingame players will receive a notification saying "New build available. Please restart." THATS IT. No waiting countless hours to get some crappy hotfixes or new patch.
An action game needs 10 hrs maintenance? What a sick joke.
Sorry blizzard you are no longer the epitome of making great games. You were 8 years ago and you just stopped there. Its time to do away with this maintenance bull!@#$. Its 2012. You will be the joke of the industry if nothing is going to change for the next few years. Year 2015, 8-10 hours weekly maintenance? That will be a nice laugh.
Anet is the real modern game developer. Tell yr CEO and his puppies to make a studio tour of Anet and learn some professional %^-*. Bring your little notebook with you.
What obscenity? I think i just hit their nerve. Last time i ever buy any blizzard product.
Hiding obscenities behind *&%*(^$%#&^#* is still an obscenity none the less. I think if a GAME is so important to you that you feel the need to make childish immature posts like that you need to take a step back and re-evaluate your obviously pathetic existence. Too bad the ban doesn't go over to the game as well.
Yeah, Blizzard mods can't take criticism and are banning people for ridiculous stuff. I got a 7 days ban for telling them they should fire those technicians who couldn't prepare D3 for the launch. No bad words used.
I wanna see him try to ban me when I'm standing next to him. Power abusing bastards.

Oh you e-thug you. Big tough man. Thing is that people like you talk big when you hide behind the internet's anonymity.
Funny thing is that your opinion on firing their technicians only goes to prove how stupid you are. I doubt you have ever tried to launch a game expecting 5 million + log ons on day 1. Hell I doubt you even work in a technical field at all. Warehouse work is what I would guess.

You know those guys that are making Torchlight 2? You know, Blizzard's only competition in the genre at the moment? Even they said that you can't really do anything about that many people logging in at one time. So no, those techs shouldn't be fired. I also understand a forum vacation for insisting that people should be fired. That is their career, their livelihood, and you think it should end because you had to wait a little bit to play a video game?!
You were banned because you tried to tell the truth.
Welcome to the world of capitalism and so called 'democracy' where once earned capital can do anything.
Though, It seems to be one of the best systems invented by humanity so far. Other options are sometimes even worse.
No, whether his post was factual or not had nothing to do with it. He was banned because he was rude and condescending - He'd have been banned from any game's official forums for a post like that assuming it had an active mod staff.

I certainly have not tried to launch a game with 5mil+ trying to log in on day 1. Thing is. BLIZZARD HAS.
Idiot. Go spread your fanboyism disease somewhere elsewhere.
These threads... Whats so hard about having some manners on the internet? Im fearing for the generations that are growing up atm...
While I absolutely agree with your point of view, I do have to say that the official forums are a freaking joke when it comes to moderation.
I've been banned twice back in SC2 simply for stating my opinion in a slightly over the top way (was saying that "x" strategy was too fucking strong for it's risks" and in another situation by saying that "their attitude in dealing with cheaters/hackers is a fucking bad joke" because of how long it took them to ban cheaters with dc-exploits since I had met the same guy 6 times in a week).
In the same threads I got banned there were dozens of other users calling each other out and saying how someone's mom was a whore or that (I quote) "they should kill themselves". It's a shame the CMs don't ban the real idiots and trolls, but think banning people because they used "the f word" is more important.
This makes me smile. The official forums have enough overdramtic rants already. They should enforce their rules so that people are encouraged to voice their complaints more constructively. A forum with a few serious posts here and there, hidden by 1000s of posts filled with nothing but angry ranting is pretty useless.
You could have said "GW2 is an MMO with 0 downtime. Why does your action RPG require two to twelve hours of maintenance downtime every week? This patching and maintenance model doesn't seem competitive and feels like a throwback to 2004."
Then they could have told you that even though it is an action game, the game is mostly hosted on the server to prevent hacking and duping, and maybe went into more detail about why the system is the way it is. Maybe they would have ignored you because they don't have anything to say about it right now, or because there are already threads about it. But they wouldn't have banned you.
This is a vendor who sold you a product, and when you are on their forums, it is business communication. Anyone who keeps that in mind will not have problems there.

There is a difference between being a fanboy and being a realist. You obviously have no clue about any of the technical issues that they faced at launch yet you think its okay that you post that these people should be fired. And you call me an idiot? And, as far as calling me a fanboy, Diablo 3 is not important enough for me to demand people being fired because I couldn't play on day one, so as far as fanboy goes thats kinda the pot calling the kettle black huh? You are just another pathetic loser ont he interwebz crying because you couldn't play your precious game that obviously is all you have in life. Go outside, get some sunlight, meet a girl, see if she will show you her tits, hell maybe get laid. There is more to life than videogames toughguy.
Included in the Battle.net code of conduct is wording about bypassing the language filter, which bull!@#$ would be consider doing, as its still obvious what you're saying. But the moderators over there have stated many times that any %#@$@ stuff they still consider obscene language, and doing so in a thread like that is pretty well ensuring the most rigid enforcement of those rules.
i did not purposely try to get around the profanity filter. I just typed normally and clicked post. What the point of the profanity filter if $#%^@#$#@ is still consider obscense. I think Blizzard is just plain upset over this post.
So you just typed the profanity in normally, and clicked post?

You're making so many assumptions, and taking everything I type about Blizzard personally. You employee of Blizzard?
I think if we compare your posts vs mine it will be obvious who's the loser here. Grow up, kid.
What obscenity? How about all of those special characters?
Why would any company want to open their forum to a person so filled with anger and who does not add anything useful to the conversation, who posts only to vent? What do you hope to accomplish with a post like that? All it does is make you feel better. I would ban you too because you're an idiot and who wants more idiots around?

I'm taking it personally? How exactly do you figure that into anything I have said? I am just tired of people who have no idea what they are talking about talking shit. As to who has no life, again, I am not the loser flaming a videogame company because I couldn't play my precious new game on day 1 without server lag and bugs. If that upsets you so bad, again, you need to take a step back and look at your pitiful existence.

I'd be willing to bet that profanity-bans are 99% automated with a human rubber-stamping the results of a word-searching routine. But yeah, I honestly wouldn't see the harm in just carpet-bombing the place with bans for all the misanthropic e-thug ranters. Spending more than a few minutes in the official forums makes me lose my faith in humanity.

You really are as stupid as your post leads me to believe.
You were likely also banned for posting what may very well be the most nonconstructive post I've seen. You should feel very proud/ashamed.
