Has any other WDs notice that pets seem broken again in 2.5? My gargs are back to dummy mode, I could have an elite pack next to me and they are out hitting trash 40yards away or picking daisy's. Prior to 2.5 I was about to do speed 70s no issues, now 70 was more of a chore, something definitely doesn't feel right
Every build requires strategy. Repositioning the pets is the way you maximaze the efficiency of the gargs. Think about it, what would be your job if the pets always positioning the best and hitting the right mob besides moving from one elite pack to another? Try to resummon the pets if you successfully grouped the mobs. On cooldown, try to move away and pets will respawn at your location and you can coordinate their movement again.
Anyway, I've noticed that almost everytime, when I use pirhando on elite pack without any additional mobs (typically in bounty), the pets are standing still without attacking until the pirhando ends. Very frustrating...
Yeah I have always noticed this also when using pirhando it seems the gargs wont attack till after the effect has stopped. Now with the newer build again using fetishes along with gargs I notice it more.

Yeah, sometimes the fetishes are blocking the Gargs and those just stand around behind them.
Fetishes do not block Gargs from attacking, that was fixed years ago Gargs have a massive reach and can attack mobs they dont even appear to be engaged with.
The problems youre seeing with Gargs not attacking are twofold...
Firstly they all follow a rule of engagement that they don not attack until the hostile mobs have, so if you drop a piranha on a pack before theyve moved gargs WILL ignore them until the piranha effect has finished and the enemy mobs can move.
Secondly a few patches back Blizz made a change to Gargs that means they will happily continue to attack mobs off-screen, this change was made to force the player to resummon the Gargs as Blizz didnt want Gargs to be a passive summon once and forget them. although one Garg does stick by your side and continue to be a bodyguard of sorts.
Now knowing that the above is the intended behaviour for gargs it is possible to game this system and get Gargs on the right pack by moving beyond the pack you wish you to attack, its not always 100% succesful but it does help.
Personally i think this change was made to Gargs by Blizz because it will make the Necro appear to have better programmed pets making more people want to pay for the new pack, its also my opinion allbeit tin foil that they may be dumbed further yet
Yes, Gargs can hit over one "row" of fetishes and cleave "above" them, however, fetishes also tend to cramp up in 2-3 lines and the Garg will hit empty air.
You will notice this a lot in sewer type maps. Still, you can get rid of most of that with positioning/recasting of fetishes/gargs.
Gargs ignore anything that looks like Terror Demons native to Act IV 3 out of 4 times; as soon as they get changed into a chicken or piggie, the Gargs will attack. Orlash has a Terror Demon skin. For a while, a patch or two it was fixed, now its back and I have seen then ignoring other critters too now. I mean c'mon, monsters don't seem to have a problem deciding to attack.

WD "pet issues" have never been solved, and Necro will have controllable pets.
Sometimes with a patch skills tend to reset to their basic unruned variant, so I would check that first on your side.
Also, GR70 seems a bit low to get into issues, however, you might have gotten a very bad monster combo in that one.

I see Abob didn't play a lot of Zunimassa...
