I know it's a bit early, but I was wondering if anyone here plans on creating a clan/guild on Diablo 3? If so, how do you plan on doing so and what will your requirements be?

they said D3 will not launch with guild/clan support BUT could possibly be implemented in a patch. idk if you knew that or not. i for one will definitely start up a clan just like they do in Warcraft n starcraft with the forums and play with like-minded people. im A LOT of people will do the same

Chat channels are in, and working. They're more like the Diablo II IRC style than the individual chat windows like StarCraft II has.
Having ways for friends and acquaintances to create social groups has been in the long term plans of the new Battle.net for some time. Whether they're called clans or not is a smaller detail. It's just getting the time to work on adding in those types of want-to-have features. Almost assuredly not for the launch of the game, but hopefully at some point in the future.

I still predict people will be using Ventrilo and clan tags. I think that would suffice.
