I'd like to see a big, bulky Paladin dripping in gold armour that deals massive holy damage that can also hang in mele and take a beating. It would be nice to have something similar to the "Shockadin" spec that was popular in WoW a few years ago (not sure if it still is, I haven't played in years). It would also be nice to have another pure mele class, something like a Rogue, where you have to get in and get out but you do massive damage if left alone.

The question isn't why do I kill. The question is, why I don't kill everybody.
I like and hope to play some kind of "mage knight". Meele with Spells. I know that the wizz can have a build like this, but we do not know yet if it will be usable in hell or inferno...
Heavy plate armor
Heavy shield user (a lot of skills around using a shield)
Smite, Shield Wall, Shield Slam, Barrier etc
Not a copy of the paladin (ie: no holy spells)
the skills would use resolve as a resource -
a lot of deflection abilities
a lot of thorns abilities
the next class would be a DERVISH
dual wielding - light armor - dexterity
a lot of spells that bring the "alladin feel"
I personally can see Blizzard bringing in a new class, as well as bringing back an old class, my guess would be the paladin or necromancer to be honest. Who knows though, they could go with two whole new classes and completely blow our minds!
As much as I want a Spartan type class, I think there are a few others that fit the Diablo universe alittle better.
Enslaver: Uses demons against demons by minipulation.
Injured (or Fallen) Angel: Injured in battle and unable to return to the high heavens on their own, they use the power of heaven to fight the hordes of demons while trying to get back to their home.
Crusader: uses his holy energies to summon steeds and weapons of battle which buff the crusader and allies with holy energy that increase various stats.
I also agree with a druid type being the most likely. Blizzard is all about saving time and effort when making things, and since there are already so many tornado and volcano type animations implemented into the game, it seems like that will be the route they take. Although, if it is for an expansion, I would guess that two classes would be added.
I think the same type of classes will be present. If the guidelines are correct, it will most likely be similar to the Assassin in D2. A high dps melee similar to the Monk only based on shadow instead of the light.
The druid coming back is very likely, as there is no class with control over the winds, earth, life/living animals, or shapeshifting. The necromancer coming back is unlikely as it shares to many aspects with the witch doctor compared to the druid. Flavorwise my vote goes to the Druid as a returning class, at least in spirit.
And a completely new class, likely one with heavy armor as the barbarian is the only one who looks the part, but the skills don't quite say "Knight". The paladin won't be in, as the Templar fills that role in the game.
I personally think that a saman could fill the elemental role but not likely I doubt any of the previous classes will show up again in the expansion blizz will try to bring something new to the table but it probably will have something to do with elements
Something else that I would like to see is a Demonologist which could summon/bind demoinc minions use the brimstone and hate of hell and fuse the demons that he summons. It just so happens to fill the summoner role, heavy caster role, transforming role. With the world stone broken and hell running rampant on the Sanctuary the cult could now come out of the shadows and fight back the demons not only to enslave stronger demons but gain more power form them so that they could possibly become a prime evil themselves (a.k.a help the good guys thill the take out the prime evils and take there spots all while gaining more power)
I definitly think the Druid will be making another appearance. As far as the other class(es), this is where it gets a little hairy. I don't know what roles/archetypes are left to fill. This makes me inclined to think that we are going to see something completely new. Possibly some kind of half-breed human/demon type thing, where its main sources of power are shadow? I'm really not too sure. I'd love to see the Necromancer but my heart tells me we wont be seeing him, at least not as we knew him in D2. Possible another kind of spellcaster, much like the holy priest from Wow. I know the Monk takes up a lot of that territory but there might still be room for a spellcaster in that area.

Blizz tried that idea with the half breed human demon thing and scraped it for the Demon Hunter
I'm thinking the new class in the expansion will be based on a place we are going to visit as a result of the expansion. A couple years back wasn't there a lot of speculation about part of D3 visiting the homeland of the necromancers, but later blizz said that it didn't make it into the game? I don't have time to go back through all the blizz quotes but I remember one saying something around the lines of it was definitely a possibility for the expansion.
As far as I can tell... When I compare WoW to D3 characters. It almost has a mix of WoW characters with a little twist to them. I feel It will be great to see how these characters are played out! Everyone is excited about this game and wanted to have input into the game because thats what the game is based upon. What we the gamers want
Overall, I am pretty new to the Diablo world but looking into it wanting to play when It comes out. When It comes to other Blizz games. I love the abilities of a Rogue. Which I believe some characters in D3 already have those. I Look forward to all the characters of the game!
But if I had to make up a choice for a new expansion character...It would be maybe take all the characters from D3 and take bits and pieces of the spells they have in each that work well together to create a character and maybe call it a Survivor or something like that. I used the word survivor bc it would be like the character would do anything in his or her power to gain the power and spells of the Diablo world to survive and compete. It'll give you maybe an intake on some of all the characters abilities.
Maybe it seems a bit far-fetched but that would be pretty cool, something like that.
i know this is early (since D3 will be out "soon") but i want to ask community
what class do you expect or wish to see in expansion. Do you think Blizzard will
put some old class from D1 or D2 or something completely different ???
I personally would like to see necromancer again since that is my favorite from D2 !
Looking forward to see what do you think....
Not trying to discourage you or anything, but I doubt the necromancer would be the first expansion character. Unless they change the necromancer to more bone and spirit spells rather than summoning, he conflicts too much with the Witch Doctor. Bone necro was my favorite though so if they gave him more of those kind of spells I would be extremely happy to play him. Also, bring back blood spells.
holy, death, strength, dexterity and magic on diablo 3 classes right now...they gonna make something new or a mix of two types..
will be nice to see some stuffs like ...half demon/ half angel classes to counterbalance the history
if they get to unbury other class from diablo 2 i wish they do this with the Necromancer...but i doubt they do
Silly idea perhaps, but how about basing a class around the power of the mind, it's not much of a stretch with Psychic Hammer and Mind Blast from the Assassin. How do people feel about someone that disciplines his mind? Reference for various Psychic abilities: http://en.wikipedia....ychic_abilities
"When men are most sure and arrogant, they are commonly the most mistaken, and have then given views to passion, without that proper deliberation and suspense which can alone secure them from the grossest absurdities"
Not to rip anything from WOW, but a Deathknight character would be cool or if anyone has read any Dragonlance books similar to Lord Soth. A knight/warrior type able to use magic, curses and diseases would be something I would play. But maybe we will see something we haven't seen before, its going to be hard to come up with something new that hasn't been used before.

I agree that its going to be hard to come up with something new but i am sure that Blizzard will like always surprise us all.
Death knight ? That was new class in WoW so i don’t think they will do it with D3...

a master of 2 sword combat
either way, my mind will be blown.

Maybe kind of priest ? or bishop ?
I don't really know..
Necromancer I'm thinking!

I can easily see them milking that and only releasing one class per expansion, rather than doing the badass route and giving us two classes per.
With that being said, I do not want to see the Druid return. I'd prefer to play a class that's not always a Werewolf or Werebear.
The Scoundrel is the Rogue, The Templar is the Paladin, and I don't know what The Enchantress is.
You're talking about The Enchantress, http://www.diablowiki.net/Enchantress
