I had this awsome idea, right? Ok so I think that Umaro could edit the forum code so that any thread that has the keywords "Favorite" and "Member" automatically moved to the spam thread.
If you can't edit the code, maybe have the moderators start putting the favorite member threads, which are 98.2% of the time either ego stroking competitions or ass kissing competitions, in the spam section of the forum. This would allow people to spam the threads like they always do without anyone getting upset because of some fucked up idea about post counts being important.
"You are like a rose in a great rose field. Each rose is so beautiful to me. But if one dies... I can still look at many other roses..." God of Darkness.
Favorite Diablo game doesnt have both "Favorite" and "Member" in it though.
oh...
i get your point.
so i agree with you

My favorite Diablo series would be the second one, classic preferred. But one of our dear members, <Insert member name here> insists that Diablo II LOD would be much more exciting as it <insert reasons here> but I think <insert retort reasons here> and so forth

That doesnt have Favorite and Member in the title. Things like "Favorite Female Member" and "Favorite Member of XXX Month" are simply spam anyway.
makes sense.....

I absolutely agree with LinkX about "Favorite Member" threads being considered spam. They don't really add anything to any type of general discussion, and chances are, the general "public" of these forums just doesn't really care.
Personally, I think these type of threads are overdone and overrated anyway. Not every person will have the same "favorite" member, so the thread is clogged with several members to choose from, and each will only garner a few votes. Very rarely will members who actually deserve nominations get them; instead, people nominate their best friends or fellow clan members "just because."
If threads like this must continue, I'd like to suggest making them happen only once every six months to a year. However, they should include several different awards so that more than one person has a chance at internet-glory, like the Jarhead Awards that happened a couple of months ago. Although I was still new then, I remember that a lot of people actually had fun with it, since it was more creative with its award choices and member selection.
Personally I don't have a problem with the favorite member threads. Just put them where they belong. If you want to nominate Jimmy for best member because he gave you that 50000 to fix your COH then fine. But that's still spam and doesn't belong in General Descussion.
We can just ask the mods to transfer them to the spam section can't we?
Or just make them in the spam section.

Favorite Member threads are about people on the site which diserve better respect then the spam section >: (
Oh wait, come to think of it, no they don't
