diablo does not need a dps meter, fights wont be lasting long enough to need one, survivability is a huge factor in the diablo series, survivability isnt a main factor in WoW, dealing the most amount of damage you possibly can with the gear you have is, therefore DPS is fundamentally optimal in WoW, but not really needed in Diablo
I hope you're joking around. The argument of "don't try to make this like WoW" is way overused on every MMO forum and completely retarded. Same thing happened on Rift forums when people asked for meters or other things that are QUALITY OF LIFE issues or just fun things to analyze to know what the heck is going on.
Right now, there are people saying "go back to WoW" to people on SW:TOR forums who want a COMBAT LOG. A freakin' COMBAT LOG!!! There's nothing wrong or "wowish" about a combat log, it's a tool some people use to gain more information / knowledge...
Same thing with a DPS meter.
at least for me when people say "don't make this game like WoW" they usually mean the type of community the WoW population hs become .
bosses in D3 don't have a berzerk time or some DPS-down priority mechanics that require high or certain DPS to overcome . the fact however you can allready see those "I want to know who's not carrying his weight" discussion" as if it even remotely matters . if you play in a group, monsters are dying, no one is ninjaing loot and basically hving fun - who cares ?
addons in D3 ? sure , some might be usefull even thought we could probably do without them . recount/skada? no thanks .
I played every blizz game so far. the reason I joined WoW is becasue my previous experiance with blizz games and especially D2 and WC1-3 . I was extremely disappointed of WoW in every aspect and hope D3 won't be a mini-WoW even though some WoW features are very viable . just let D3 be the next D2
