I decided to quickly throw up two videos of greater rift clears with both the Arcane Orb and Energy Twister variation of the DMO sets because people kept asking me about how the builds were supposed to work and what they should be rerolling etc. I didn't record the 81 clear I did with AO so I quickly cleared a 75 but the playstyle is more or less the same. I managed to clear a 83 with the ET build for this guide which was kinda nice (r2 US atm) but regardless I hope people find these videos helpful and learn a thing or two.
As far as the differences between the two builds, I think the ET build will be the stronger out of the two simply because of the "potential" damage is can do. AO has a very small hitbox and requires you to be in melee range of the target whereas ET can hits everything everywhere.
If there are any other questions, leave a comment and I'll try and get back to you.
First time making these kinds of videos so any feedback is welcomed! I humbly apologize for the constant breathing into the microphone and the rushed sentences at times!
I prefer ET-playstyle over AO, thanks for the video. Whats the reason youre going with static discharge over arcane based torrent (since youre sporting 20% damage increase on arcane)?
The damage coming from Arcane Torrent (no matter which rune) is so little compared to the Energy Twister that the best course of action is to get as many twisters out as possible. This is achieved by using the Static Discharge rune for Arcane Torrent because it has the largest spread of individual hits, granting the largest possible number of critical hits (read: generate arcane power) in the shortest amount of time. This of course, means you get to go back to hard cast spamming Energy Twister sooner than you would running other runes and/or Disintegrate.
Have a quick question about these builds. I am presently running an AO build as higher GR's I usually have to play solo as playing in public games, people cannot keep up past GR70 in 4 man groups. Quinn says that the AO build cannot be used in group play whereas the ET build is for groups. Can the ET build be used successfully at high GR's solo? Nobody ever questions Quinn, but can the AO build actually be used in group play as well? I am just starting wiz, and I really would like to have one build that can play both game plays. Thanks.
