I was recently send an email entitled "Against school", after reading the long email i scrolled up to this point and re-read it, it got me thinking, school isnt about education at all, it is just way to seperate us into groups.
1) The adjustive or adaptive function. Schools are to establish fixed habits of reaction to authority. This, of course, precludes critical judgment completely. It also pretty much destroys the idea that useful or interesting material should be taught, because you can't test for reflexive obedience until you know whether you can make kids learn, and do, foolish and boring things. 2) The integrating function. This might well be called "the conformity function," because its intention is to make children as alike as possible. People who conform are predictable, and this is of great use to those who wish to harness and manipulate a large labor force. 3) The diagnostic and directive function. School is meant to determine each student's proper social role. This is done by logging evidence mathematically and anecdotally on cumulative records. As in "your permanent record." Yes, you do have one. 4) The differentiating function. Once their social role has been "diagnosed," children are to be sorted by role and trained only so far as their destination in the social machine merits - and not one step further. So much for making kids their personal best. 5) The selective function. This refers not to human choice at all but to Darwin's theory of natural selection as applied to what he called "the favored races." In short, the idea is to help things along by consciously attempting to improve the breeding stock. Schools are meant to tag the unfit - with poor grades, remedial placement, and other punishments - clearly enough that their peers will accept them as inferior and effectively bar them from the reproductive sweepstakes. That's what all those little humiliations from first grade onward were intended to do: wash the dirt down the drain. 6) The propaedeutic function. The societal system implied by these rules will require an elite group of caretakers. To that end, a small fraction of the kids will quietly be taught how to manage this continuing project, how to watch over and control a population deliberately dumbed down and declawed in order that government might proceed unchallenged and corporations might never want for obedient labor.

If you ever meet a hafling and a hungry dragon you dont have to outrun the dragon, you only have to outrun the hafling.
uhh no. school is about education. if its about separating us and controling us, then why can we do pretty much anything that we want to do? we choose what courses to take. we can decide to end our education when we want to. half of that email is complete bullshit anyway. all you have to do is look at a public school to see that the "integrating" isnt there. and i think people would notice if they suddenly werent aloud to reproduce cause theyre bad learners. and whats so bad about listening to authority? seriously man. dont listen to these conspiracy nuts. an email doesnt give anything credibility. those honkeys just want a ruckus.
most of the united states early leaders had no formal education what so ever, edison, lincoln, washington, carnegie. the US was build on people with no formal educations.
all they want to do is better controll you, no not like communism, but in a much more evil way, sure we can vote, but thats not what anyone cares about, they care about the labor. the smart become successful and have laborors while the not so smart become the laborers, the controlled, a sort of slavery in a sence. while at school people will pick out groups (try to tell me this doesnt happen) the popular kids hang out with the other popular kids and the unpopular kids with the other unpopular kids, eventually the popular kids will look at the unpopular kids with inferiority, this happens in every school.

School is a facility for conformity, the mere fact that you are told to wear school uniform is so that you all look the same is a key indicator that the government is trying to create little clones out of the children of today. If there was no cornformity in schools then the children would have the freedom to choose how they want to learn. The fact of the matter is that some children cannot learn in a school envirnment. They way there are taught is not satisfactory to their needs hence they act up and are instantly labelled as a trouble maker. These "trouble makers" are treated like shit and although they seem to get special care when it comes to grading flexibily, in the end they are still going to come out of school with a less than satisfactory education, to the governments standards atleast.
If you walk into a high school today you will instantly see the groups as they are within the conforming groups. You will have your "jocks" all of which are equally as popular throughout the school, except for the few that stand out the most and know it. Then there are the hot chicks or as I like to call them, the 'dogs' of school. These girls are all dressed up, make-up caked on their faces and jaws dropping everywhere within a 50 foot radius. These girls are idolised by the 'rejects' of the school and they do their bidding by giving you a 'look but don't touch' vibe. I myself was a reject of my schooling, hated by those who were popular, great mates with the rest of my kind. I was a reject because I wouldn't conform to the rest of the people. Jelling my hair, wearing 'hip' clothes and getting slothenly drunk every weekend just so I could pretend that I didn't get with 'the ugly chicks'.
The whole of school is about conformity and it isn't the students who are the conformists but it is the teachers. If we were taught to treat everyone equally in primary school then do you think that we would tease, and bully those who are different to use. Do you think that there would be 'groups' and bunches of people who are more popular than the rest. No, we are taught about our differences from the beginning. He is fat so he isn't good at sport, she is ugly so the teachers go to the other girls first. Special attention is paid to those who are ssen as being for physically and mentally fortunate. Being somewhat of a brighter child myself, the teachers expected more from me than they would have someone who was better at sport.
So conformity is the basis of schooling in that there are different groups who are taught to conform with one another in hope that they will one day work in the areas where they 'belong'. I wouldn't have ended up as I am today if I was chosen to play in the sporting teams every once in a while. But no, I am not fit enough to play sport. Well I am sorry but that is societies fault!
That is how I feel about schooling (for the most part) so if I go missing in the next few days, you know why!
they only reason to go to skool is to pick up chicks and eat the questionable lunch the skool provides, 'meat surprise' the surprise its 1% meat.
there is nothing you learn at skool you cant learn on the streets.

me i am a Very bright kid, but because of this i am put in harder classes and i am graded harder in the normal classes. Now heres the hypocarcy of it. i have a lower GPA than Mr. Donny Do Nuttin'. also on my rport cards my teachers always put "not living up to full potential" how the heck they Know my potential ,maybe this is it!. Oh then the teachers also grade easier on girls, because they have two extra talents then men (o) (o). i witnessed it today. girl knelt down with a low cut shirt and the teacher sat there and changed her grades jsut because she ask, and because he had a good view.
if you think you are dumb and had it bad in school try being smart!
then on the issue on being in sports... i am a Varsity wrestler and i just got 4 in regionals as a sophmore and my coach thinks i can get to state next year. so what does he do he now puches me harder than the rest of the guys on the team and well does it make me better, probably, but it makes me look i get punished by him. oh also if i do a move wrong guess who gets singled out.
on the topic of popularity its all a matter of how active you are in school, because the more active you are the more you are seen, and the more you are seen the more you are seen the more you are known, and you get picked in the first place because the teachers like you.
to have a good time in high school you have to become a suck up, kiss well because of my christian ethics i wont finish that.
also they think that learning from books is a good thing, but then agian it has been said many times before in our history you learn better by experiences, i agree that we shold all have to learn to read and write well, but he rest is useless, i also highly agree with the times of old where you became a apprientace as a 15 yr old and you learn from someone who knows and lives by what he does every day, what better way to get a job?
but insted we are taugth oh, if you dont like your job you can ge ta new one, but this also brings the BS of college diplomas. SMART PEOPLE are idiots, and a college degrees are a joke!.my cousin has a diploma in Tech. but he got a job as a highly paid supervisor......in a construction company, and he has no experiance in this field and he is in charge of people how have been there all their lives!
i read a bumper sticker another day and it read.... "at least the war on the middle class is going well."
its becoming an american tradition to have the stupid people in charge like perz Bush. its either your are a master or slave and the only differance "intelligence omitted" is a little piece of paper!
