Ok, I havent read everyone elses posts so sry If im just re-mentioning things?
Try this program called "SpeedFan", you can see the speed of your fans (and supposedly control them, although this doesnt work for me), you can measure voltages and most importantly you can see the temperatures inside your computer
If that doesnt work theres a program called "Core Temp" which measures temperatures
I recently just cleaned out an 7-8 year old computer that had never been cleaned, removed a solid 1.5cm layer of dust from between the heatsink and the CPU fan and replaced the thermal grease
As well as a bunch of other dust from other places, all together it must of been like 3 full sized handfuls of compacted dust

Sounds delicious. I usually clean mine every 3 months.
Have you checked the internal temperatures using a program or the startup bios?
Even though its a laptop and the case around the components is really small, I would not be able to tell the internal cpu temperatures by putting my hand on a case, or even if i touched the heatsink
I recommend using a program called SpeedFan, you can check the temperatures and Fan speeds RPM

Honestly I can't find a heatsink. The fan blows right into a tube that takes the air to the chip.
Also, great. Thanks Spanish. You wouldn't happen to know how much they want for those, would you?
I would go more with the 2nd link I gave. I don't like sites that don't tag the price on the parts. You have to contact them in order to bargain for a price I guess.

That's the program I was recommending to him earlier.
just a little reminder tip for everyone on the forum: When cleaning fans, especially the smaller fans within a portable computer or laptop it's suggested that you either hold the fan or place something in-between the fan blades (ie a pencil) to prevent it from spinning. Spraying compressed air into a fan or cleaning a fan with a vacuum may cause damage to some fans or in some cases cause back voltage.
sorry for the double post, but if you're aving trouble with speed fan, just boot the comp into bios and check the temp there. wait 5 mins then check it again and see if there is a dramatic rise. also your laptop may be set to shutdown when the cpu reaches a certain temp, so it doesnt cook itself. check what that temp is set at. most intel CPUs have a threshhold at around 60 degrees. If you go buy a fan, id recommend getting some arctic silver 5 and attacking a heatsink to your CPU.
Didn't say i had most knowledge here. Just said i have alot for my age. Most of the crap i know is what you learn at A level and University. Well at least here in England anyways.
I don't like cocky people or people who brag and are seriously overconfident about themselves, especially when its over the internet and has no backing. It serves no purpose
You had a good point about the overheating of laptops on carpets though, but leave your massive ego outside

(I got it running, I hate to turn it off now. Lol...)

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.

Cheap manufacturer.

You aren't even the most knowledgeable here.

As for the Speedfan, is there any other programs that anyone would suggest?

tbh, I haven't read many (if any?) of your threads so I don't know you at all
