I get what your saying tim4war but PvP should be taken into consideration as being the same playstyle as hardcore, seeing as the objective is not dying.
The objective is no longer not dying. It's getting the most kills. D3 Arena is no longer last man standing, it's team deathmatch.

I was never a part of trying to beat an easy script in diablo, I spent my time duking it out with the best pvpers on d2jsp. I've been there and done that in wow. In fact I lead a server best raiding guild for about a year beating scripts and it was quite soul crushing. You ever played a d2 mod called median xl? It's harder than diablo 2 and people level up in it every day without dying, without twinking.
But grats on those screenshots anyways :)! I'll hang onto my "achievements" though.
After reading some of these posts it makes me less willing to share my builds -_-.
Also, I'd love to know what a "gg player" is. A gladiator, Grand Marshal, Master league? Good Guy? Goofy guy? To me he sounds like the same kind of jerkoff that is far too common in this world, and really don't want to hang around with.
Yall are just swinging your junk around trying to sound cool at this point. GG player is someone with a reputable accomplishment such as mine in my signature.
whoa man, you're totally great at diablo 2. now can you please do me a kindness? can you never comment on my threads again? you're both an asshole, and completely full of shit.
I am definitely an asshole, but am not full of shit. I was actually just constructively contributing to a healthy dialogue, and the discussion about juggernaut. Weapon throw will merely keep you immobile and allow you to be slain while attempting to remain under 20% health.

Alright, I can respect that answer. I'm an asshole myself and rather proud of it.
Not sure if you read my reply, but at some point in this thread, the build got twisted into depending on being below 20% health for effectiveness. But actually, the build is MORE effective when I'm closing distance with 3 diff abilities, stunlocking, insta-critting with HotA, healing with Ancient Spear, and (yes) weapon throwing when I get snared.
The below 20% is an ace in the hole. Again, the way I have it worked out 560% weapon damage on spam will take down a clothie before they have any idea what hit them. Now I may be wrong about that, but I will happily admit it. Right now this is just theory with no way to test.
The only thing that's really pissing me off is people stating things like they're /duh facts.. we don't know yet.

You guys even read my post... hours ago and second post no less and every "build" has Juggernaut. Some were more for amusement than others, it's all just ideas and speculation for now. I also made a wizard build thread in the wizard section. People who aren't willing to share their OP builds are the same type of people who exploit the system and laugh about it while their neighbor gets exploited... What are you afraid of, not being able to actually out play people? You're going to get matched up vs people of your gear/skill in the end anyway, plus it's not even a balanced (competitive) system. Blizzard has already sht all over that, not surprisingly. This isn't starcraft we're talking about. Anybody can buy power in this game and be a hero.
Weapon Throw will work exactly like it did in D2... It was probably even better in D2 because you could dual-wield throw them like crazy at amazing speed.
And truth be told, the frenzy/weapon throw barb in d2 sucked.
Well if the skill is really that bad I wouldn't use it in pvp. But I hadn't seen it for myself. And throw barbs *were* terrible period in d2. I just figured the skill would be better now with a new game seeing as how it's not given to you for free at like what was it level 1 or something? Plus not all (or even half) of my builds even use throw weapon.
I like how he talks about "basic rotation"...in pvp...in a fast-paced actionRPG...
And yes, when you present me with a build with basically no defense and no cooldowns to get you out of a tight spot - Anyone can instantly assume its a PvE spec.
When you embrace the fact that you're under 20% hp with nothing to get you back up on your feet other than a easy-to-miss ranged attack... You just dont sound like you know what you're talking about.
You wont be 20% hp against ONE person, you'll be 20% against 2-3 people.
If i ever see a barbarian using your build in arena trying to pull a "Dolaiim" off, ill just take one WT to get a sure-pull off ancient spear, ground stomp stun and then WW those pretty little 20% left.
You are continually not reading my replies, which have well-reasoned arguments that counter your criticisms.
Your imaginary scenario is cute, but your 44% weapon damage vs my 50% damage reduction will give me plenty of time to live through the stun (3 seconds at (0.44*0.5)[WeapDamage]/0.4sec = 165% weapon damage), leap out of your WW, and crush your furyless barb with WT/Spear/Stomp/HotA/HotA/ etc etc etc.

You leap out, i leap after you, game over sonnyboy. (meanwhile my teammate is also wailing on you)
Oh I didn't know it was 2v1. Yeah, in that case, you might actually have a chance of killing me.
You can leap on after me into my ground stomp (yours is on CD now, member?) and mah spammed hammer of the ancients cause i got no rage restriction. Come on in! Bring a friend cause that shit's AoE SON!
Oh, and I'd spear you for [WD]x700% health as well.

I haven't watched stream of weapon throw.. Anyways if it's really that bad I wouldn't use it, that simple. I'm not going to argue that it's good if I haven't seen it, just had a vision that it wouldn't ... suck ass seeing as how it's kind of a big investment. I guess that means you'd have to pick hammer of the ancients for DPS, if not just using frenzy as sole dps skill and fury dump with sprints/stuns/buff. And I've already seen the tooltip, and that's the problem, I'd -just- seen the tooltip.

That's why I said "if". I'm trying to find a beta video of it. Instead of triple posting.. I'll just edit this post. To all you people who are sitting there saying throw weapon isn't even >VIABLE< for pvp, go to 20:20. 1 minute of google search and some skim watching gave me the info needed.
It's plenty fast for pvp, so long as you are decent with the mouse. For you to say it's not even viable makes you look silly. It may not be "THE BEST SKILL EVER OMG" but it looks viable to me so long as you don't sit in one spot spamming multiple axes. In my builds you were already supposed to be on top of the enemy anyways. It's just a fury dump for a much harder hitting skill with a snare as opposed to a softer hitting skill with +15% crit. My builds are designed for gap closers, snares, stuns and damage/life buffs and at times cooldowns for either more damage or more survivability. I always get Juggernaut and I normally get the other defensive passives along with it- to make sure I don't get rooted forever or killed in a chain stun. I only ever use one or two attacks because having any more is flat out too situational and unrealistic in a pvp setting where you are fighting for your life and >almost always< killing one person at a time.
I like the survivability in this first one, and the CC. My only issue is, I feel like you're gonna need bigger spike damage once you get frenzy charged up and pop battle rage. That might just be a style thing though, I'm 100% the slow 2H spike damage type of player. I like the stun on seismic slam, that will be a nice interrupt skill.
I like Threatening Shout with Indigo. This looks like it would be a great utility build for a team, you could CC the ass outta everyone, live a really long with War Cry, Ignore Pain, and Inspiring Presence. The obvious sacrifice is big damage, but a utility build like this just frees up your teammates to do the nuking.
So this is your big damage build HotA is hard to pass up, and you've still got tons of CC and survivability. Not sure about superstition, but who knows.. we'll just have to play these builds out. Superstition may be the most essential passive there is, depending on how PvP is balanced.

My intention for the seismic slam frenzy (fist)build is that you periodically stun to stay on top of people, or keep others from being on top of you.
The second is for sheer utility in a group setting, if it is the case that barbarians get focused down hard, a build like this may not be a bad choice. You can pillar kite while using omni potent stuns and slows.. as well as reducing incoming damage by half at the same time. Also ignore pain. If you are totally ignored? Fine. Frenzy them sobs and debuff people whenever you can with threatening shout. So long as you take one person outa the fight and help your squisher more nuke heavy allies this can "work" either way.
The third yeah lol, you hit the nail on the head. It's supposed to give you a ton of fury from fury generating gap closers/stuns/snares so that you can save up a ton of fury and dish out high burst with HoTA. The reason I get superstition in so many builds is because over my experience playing games barbarians and warriors have high innate physical resistance (and heal in stuns from other barbs) and thus is focused down by ranged characters (casters and bow/arrow) because in order to damage things as melee you need to chase characters meaning you're always a possible target, whereas ranged dps and heal/utility have little problem pillar humping or being in the wide open depending. Anyways, I think the largest danger for barb is damage and utility from the wizard which is why I specialize each and every one to minimize those damages and utilities. It's not like I think barbs won't be attacking other barbs, I just don't plan to build a character around that scenario until I've encountered issues with it.

I'm with you on that. That's the main reason I focus on mostly CC/Distance closing, and maybe 1 or 2 giant spike-damage abilities. It's been categorically true for me in RPG/aRPG PvP that if you're a melee class, and you can't kill the kiting classes extremely quickly, you're boned. I personally lean towards a "best defense is a good offense" approach, where I'll sacrifice survivability (prolonging the inevitable while being kited) for blinding speed and extreme violence.
I don't know if that'll work in D3 or not, but I'm sure as balls gonna try and make it work. One thing's for sure: Whatever we do, our success is going to be extremely gear-dependent.

2x 1h weapons.. considering swapping out Weapon master for juggernaught, depending on wutever the hell a mighty weapon is.
