Ok, first of all yes I am the same person that posted a thread hating Hydra...BUT, I have started to really enjoy using Hydra. It's a very useful skill actually.
First off, the drop rates of wands just completely ruin my over thought of making a build for the hydra...I have over 200 hours in rifts on my wizard and I haven't seen either a Wand of Woh or Serpents Sparker...
I think our Wands have way too low of a drop rate...Compared to other class specific items, we have the lowest drop rate....The wand of Woh is 1.52% rate, and the rimeheart is a 1.02%...Do you see what I mean? We might see the rarest sword before we see our Wand....
The thunderfury and shard of hate are easier to find than a Wand of Woh.
the sad thing is, i have found many rare items in this game, but before i knew what was good or what to keep, I've sharded sunkeepers before, luckily i found another, i sharded my serpent sparker long ago, because hydra sucked till recently, and wasn't a build i was ever going to make....right!? sigh
I've sharded that dagger for wd that makes queen spiders or spiders slow by 60% or whatever, and now I'm trying to find another on PTR to try that out with new spiders, it sucks when you had it in your hands, and then said f it, got to many junk legs, and shard it, then 2 months later..oh look its that useless item in a really cool build, but you cant try it because..you..salvaged..it.../angryface
That's why you always store each legendary that has a unique ability, even useless ones.
Damn right. I keep every single piece of special gear I find after I gifted a perfect Cindercoat to a guy in a public game, since I thought that FIre builds are crap (happened back in the days when Disintegrate/AT builds were FOTM). I guess we all make such mistakes and then learn from them.
I actually agree with him. It's not a matter of keeping anything interesting you find.. the chances of you even finding a wand of woh to begin with are astronomically low.I have several Thundfurys, Shard of Hate, and every wand except WoW. The swords are great but they don't make a build. Keeping every wand, source and wizard hatdoesn't really matter when they're all useless and the way this patch is shaping up so far, will remain useless. It wouldn't be such a problem if there were more build-creating items like WoW but quite frankly there aren't. There's Mirrorball, WoW, maybe Vyr (though it's usually run in conjunction with Mirrorball).. and that's about it. One desirable item in two of the three item types unique to Wizard, nevermind the fact that there isn't a single wizard hat worth more than a forgotten soul. Compare this with the plethora of build-around items that Witch Doctors get in all three of their slots. It's no wonder this class is in such a sad state.
The reason we all dream about WoW, whether or not it even lives up to the hype in t5/t6, is because it's the only unique thing we have to work for after Mirrorball. And the vast majority of us will never, ever find one. Yay for wizards.

Couldn't of said it any better....AH please come back!

And may the odds be ever in your favour.
