I don't want Blizzard ever introduce lvl higher than 60. I want all lvl 60 legendary and set items to stay difficult to find and for them to be wanted forever and ever and not to be useless crap as soon they introduce new expansion with lvl 65 cap or smth. Expansions should be like in old D2, just a content and new items 60 additions where new items should be different but not superior to other items already in the game. They should just make all the best legendaries to be very difficult to get (like if you play for a year you should find one, any one not necessarily a weapon).
Do anybody know about blizzard plans regarding above for current Diablo? If you have some blue posts it would be great.
This thread is composed of people wishing they won't raise the level and item level since it would mean all their farm up till that point has been completely worthless.
1- I'm pretty certain everyone in this thread is not hoping for them to not raise the level cap. I for one have no problem with it.
2- Adding some new items doesn't make all previous farm worthless. You are assuming that there will be a massive ilvl jump between d3 and d3xp. This does not need to be so. All high-end items will be rare, so adding some new, also rare, items, even if they are universally better than what existed in d3, does not mean that all your farming becomes useless on day 1 of d3xp release. Someone would still need to find those new items.
An example would be someone rolling a perfect <runeword of choice>. Them having a perfect one doesn't make the mid-roll one you got "worthless".
Isn't this arguement of the best items being made redundant by future expansions true of any game? In any game where there are 'better' and 'best' items to be had, any new items added to the pool will surely have be better than the pre-existing ones to make them worthwhile? What would be the point of adding new items that bring nothing new, fresh or exciting to the mix?
Equally, what is the purpose of this game if not to have have fun and hunt for better items? Say you get your uber item before the expansion is released and (as the OP proposed) there are no better items released for you. What would be the point of the expansion then, other than new areas to look at and mobs to kill? If there are no better items then there is surely no need to farm?
A game based upon the premise of dungeon crawling and item hunting needs new, better items injected into it to keep things fresh and the continual hunt for loot worthwhile and relevant.
Also, isn't the point of this game that the vast majority of us will never actually achieve the 'end goal' of the perfect item set? If we did, what would be the point continuing to play for no reward?
Ok, I agree and I want it too. But if they make some items so difficult to find that you will have to look for them for 3 years and the same items will be redundant after a year cause of expansion it is just wrong for Diablo. I think it is ok for Wow as item hunt is not the end game there but raid and achievement. For diablo finding that super ubber epic was always the point of never-ending grinding . I don't want to loose it. I think they could make it so both old and new items are still ubber but new ones just look different so can appeal for other people and new items may goes better with different set of possibly new skills. I just don't want my dreams (ubbers) to be killed by my dreamed items going out of date cause of expansion. It will feel like buying IPhone 4 to realize day later that iPhone 5 will be released in a month. I don't think anybody like this to happen to him. Possibly the real diablo will start after second expansion when they will stop releasing new expansion packs.
