I'm not sure if you're still accepting/take applications from koalas but here I go:
Do you have any Diablo or any A-RPG experience?
Over 200 hours in Diablo 2 and about 300 hours in Monster Hunter series.
Have you ever been part of a committed group for any video game, card game, role-playing game (D&D) or board game before?
Part of a small group of friends that practice Starcraft 2 together.
Was part of the largest guild in WarSong KPNS.
Was part of a Monster Hunter group.
Was part of an amateur DotA All-Stars team.
What class do you plan to start with?
Wizard.
Do you plan on rushing or taking your time through Normal? If you're taking your time, what will you be doing for Nightmare / Hell / Inferno?
For normal I intend to take my time as I do have work and also like to explore lore and easter eggs in my first play through. As the difficulty ramps up will probably focus more on gameplay and loot and focus on progressing quickly until I need to up my gameplay and loot again.
How often will you be able to play?
About 15-20 hours a week. Mostly weekends.
Do you have a microphone and are you willing to use Ventrilo? (If you answer no to this - then, well, you didn't read my OP :))
Yes.
Do you have any suggestions for a group like this?
I think it will be an amazing cathartic experience when we all get to Hell or Inferno and beat through a pack of monsters that might have been impossible if we were playing alone. So if we challenge each other as a group to play better we'll be better.
What timezone are you in?
Pacific Time Zone. Currently PDT(UTC -7).
Are you over the age of 18?
Yes. I am 23.
Will you share and trade within the group as much as you can, or just a little?
I will trade as much as I can. I will love to donate any gear that I don't need that I pick up. Also trading in person with people you know will support you in turn makes it a great idea to trade with the group.
Will you prefer co-op or playing alone?
I prefer co-op much more unless I'm just looking to cool down and screw around to relieve stress in which case I might do some solo games and blow through an easier area.
I love the idea of small, sharing group (around 10-20 members), but playing on the U.S. region is kinda a dealbreaker for me here, as I'll be playing with my IRL friends on the EU region and don't want to have a set of two characters. Though I like your ideals and enthusiasm so at least I wish you a good luck and may the odds be ever in your favor (I read the Hunger Games before it was cool!).
Edit: Also latency to U.S. servers tends to be quite acceptable, but the random spikes are what scares me. Long live the teh Red Pandas.
There aren't regions in Diablo III. Your characters are account-based and are persistent. The only thing that is region-based is the RMAH. (And obviously the servers the games are hosted on - but not the characters)
False. Characters are region-based. You can have 10 in North America, 10 EU, 10 SEA, etc. No matter what region you play in, the RMAH is tied to your local economy.

Thanks for the clarification. I thought just the RMAH was region based - not characters.
We've already split US and EU players up regardless - so it wouldn't really impact us in any way.
I'm personally quite wary of joining a "clan" or "guild", simply by questions like "how much will you play, how active will you be" ^.^;
Big red warning lights start flashing whenever I read those, as a remnant of my WoW days.
It's just a question. This isn't a clan or guild. This is a group of players from the Diablo Fans website. It's just so we have people to play with at all times. I ask the question about how often you'll play so I know whether or not I should recruit more or less so every hour of every day will be occupied with players. (I don't want to only recruit 2 or 3 people who will play at say, 2-8 A.M.)
There isn't a requirement as far as time goes. I can't understand the players in the group, their time-frames, their goals or their play-style if I don't have a questionnaire.
Well if there will be a chatchannel to stay in contact with fellow diablofans members I'd happily join that ^^
For the rest I don't really see the merit in such groups =) As I have several real life friends who will play aswell.
The idea is not bad at all. Meet people from the site, add them to your Real ID list if you like them, and group up any chance people are available.
I completely agree. The use of the word application will probably scare a lot of people off. My problem is that (thanks to Bearpaw for adding one more!) we only have ten EU players so far. We have a total of 26 US players. At this point every US player that has "applied" will most likely be a part of the group.

Not all of us have several real life friends who will play Diablo. (I have a few but they'll only be able to play 10 hours a week or less)
If there is an in-game chat channel - I'm sure we could use that. A lot of people like to use Ventrilo so that they can chat while playing.
Honestly everybody who posts here will probably be in the group - It just means that I have to arrange things a little differently =).
Somehow that always amazed me. The Diablo series has always been quite immersive, so why would you want someones real life voice disrupt that immersion

It doesn't really bother me at all. (Most of us will probably play through normal by ourselves).
After you play through normal...you've experienced all of the content worth listening to. That's just my $0.02.
Hey, I'd love to join a community such as the one you're promoting.
Q: Do you have any Diablo or any A-RPG experience?
I played through the original Diablo 1, I played Diablo 2 for two years or so. Spent most of my time farming items, trading. Hammerdin for Diablo Clone, and a Firemage for speedruns.
Q: Have you ever been part of a committed group for any video game, card game, role-playing game (D&D) or board game before?
I played Dungeons & Dragons as a kid, then 2nd edition, then 2,5 edition. In total around 4 years of playing, with the same group. Highest I got was a mage at level 14, Invoker. We played 3-4 nights a week, around there.
I played Magic The Gathering 17-18 years ago, they sold Revised in the stores around that time, then released 3rd edition shortly after. Played it for maybe 2 years, competed in the Tournaments which were nearby, and spent a lot of time trading, built up a stack of card worth 2000nok to around 70.000nok.
I played WoW for maybe 5 years. I raided in the Infamous Guild for 2,5 years, 18 server firsts. Was very dedicated, I was over Nihilium Rogues on most fights, and did the most damage for a very long time. I was too addicted though. My main char had over 400 days played.
Not related, but played SC for 6 years, was team leader for Norway, and competed at a fairly high level. Been gaming since I was 8, I'm 30 now. These days I'm coaching my family, friends, people they know and stuff in SC2, don't play it much, but I am master in all 3 races, and I like teaching people, so that + reading are my hobbies now lol.
Q: What class do you plan to start with?
Demon Hunter, I was known as Drizztygirl on WoW, so I figured I'd just use that name and make a class most similar to Rogue, to be a bwass.
Q: Do you plan on rushing or taking your time through Normal? If you're taking your time, what will you be doing for Nightmare / Hell / Inferno?
My plan is to get semi fast to 60, by that I mean maybe around 18 hours first day, then get good rest, maybe 8-9 hours of sleep, good breakfast, and then play until evening again, do that for the first few days, and hopefully I'll be 60. (I tried rushing for server firsts to new level in WoW, but I failed at it, I did manage to play 72 hours straight once, but I just reached 83 and a half lol, and people already 85 then). So not my forte.
But I do know I have the grind Gene in me, I leveled 2 Characters to Grand Marshal in Wow, and one of the first Rank 14's in the world. To do that I had to play around 12 - 18 hours a day, grind kills for 4-5 months straight, and the last week was stupid, nearly killed me, since most people were cheating, hard to compete with people sharing accounts, stayed up for 4-5 days straight, passed out on the keyboard, my brother found me, with a full grown beard, drool coming down my chin, white, pale, lack of food. He carried me to the sofa, and then did the last day while I was passed out for 18 hours lol.
Q: How often will you be able to play?
Depends, how good the game is, if it's what I think it will be, I will probably play many hours, every day. And either way I will hardcore it the first 2 weeks, to see if it's something I can fall in love with. If I don't feel it, I won't force it, and after the first 2-4 weeks, I'll let people know, and I'll quit the game and go do something else.
But if I fall in love, I'll play a lot.
Q: Do you have a microphone and are you willing to use Ventrilo? (If you answer no to this - then, well, you didn't read my OP :))
Yeah, I've been using a microphone since it was "underground" till now. I have ventrilo and I'm used to using it from my WoW days. Even though these days It's much better to use Skype, cleaner sound, less stress, trolling, annoyance + easier to use. But either is fine lol
Q: Do you have any suggestions for a group like this?
That's my forte, I'm not the brighest fella, or the most intellectual. But creativity has been one of my strong suits.
First things that comes to mind is, we try and change our day rhythm for relase, so we wake up around 23:00 in the evening. Then we sit round through next day, and till the evening, go to bed, good nights rest.
Have prepared food and meals in advance, have a few rules not to delay the group.
The sharing of items is an obvious one, to clear through content quicker.
Another idea I was thinking about, which might not be that popular would be to funnel all the gold and magical items to one character, and that character plans in advance when it's smartest to go craft new items. So if one character gets all the blues and gold (the blues that people aren't wearing lol), you'll get the best craftable gear nonstop. Have one guy in charge of that.
And to make up for it, when everyone is level 60 in that group, the group just funnels the money through the rest of the members to get everyone's Blacksmithing to the same level, so no one will feel left out.
Q: What timezone are you in?
Standard time zone:UTC/GMT +1 hour
I live in Norway, it's middle of europe time lol
Q: Are you over the age of 18?
Yeah
Q: Will you share and trade within the group as much as you can, or just a little?
Depends, if it's irl mates in the group I'll share all the way up to 60. Also depends how much I trust the group, if I'll be rolling with the same group of people, I'm more inclined to share any blues, mediocre yellow all the way. If I get in with some new people and I don't like the wibe I'm getting I'll probably not.
Won't share any Legendaries either, or something with max affixes.
Q: Will you prefer co-op or playing alone?
3 Man group up to 60 seems most awesome, 4 man group for the Inferno struggle. After Inferno is cleared, I'd prolly see if there's anything I can solo and look for "exploits".
Depends how you can farm the best loot, that'd what would draw me to either.
Okay, feel free to pm me if there's anything else. Cheerio
For the rest I don't really see the merit in such groups =) As I have several real life friends who will play aswell.
I applied to this idea. Looking for people to play with.
Yesterday i entered the beta for the first time. And I'm very glad to have joined this "concept" of a group. People in public games rush, taunts, ignores the rest,... Ok, it's a beta, but this reassures me in thinking about a kind, n ice and cooperative group of people is not less than imperative to enjoy DIII at his best.
I have not that group between my friends, so...
Come on, euros, It's going to be epic (I've played more the DIII beta in 24 hours than 95% of the videogames I've installed in my PC...awesome)
Diablo was one of the first games that left an big impression on me when I was younger, but when Diablo 2 was released was when I really sunk time into the series. I always refer to Diablo 1/2 as my WoW before WoW - I have put a LOT of time in the series, and still do here and there after 10+ years.
I have played a bit of torchlight and titan quest as well.
Have you ever been part of a committed group for any video game, card game, role-playing game or board game before?
Most of my experience with a committed group of people would be from WoW - I have played around since its' release and have played with a few different groups of people throughout that time for raiding/pvping whatever it may have been.
Back when I played Diablo 2 exclusively, I did generally play with the same people in a small group for the most part - mostly for reasons you want to start a group.
In terms of other games - I have recently been playing D&D with a small group of friends, meeting every week or two.
What class do you plan to start with?
Unless something drastic changes my mind, I'll be starting with the barbarian.
Do you plan on rushing or taking your time through Normal? What will you do for subsequent difficulties?
I plan on taking my time through normal, the lore/story of this series as been a big thing for me - having said that I anticipate I will still be progressing pretty quickly, as I will have some free time come launch. After normal I will probably go through the difficulties quicker, provided I am not getting my teeth kicked in the later difficulties :).
How often will you be able to play?
I generally have quite a lot of time in the evenings/nights, so I anticipate I will be around often. If Diablo 3 will grab my attention like I think it will, I will probably be trying to squeeze in any time I can.
Do you have a microphone and are you willing to use Ventrilo?
Yes and yes.
Do you have any suggestions for a group like this?
Nothing comes to mind at the moment, you seem to have everything I would be looking for/wanting to do myself in a group like this. I am simply looking for a group of like-minded people who are willing to play/trade together and have fun doing it most of all.
What timezone are you in?
US Central.
Are you over the age of 18?
Yes, I am 20.
Will you share and trade within the group as much as you can, or just a little?
I would certainly do so as much as possible, providing others are wanting to as well. I enjoyed the trading aspect of Diablo 2, unfortunately it seems like that may only stay alive in a group like this for the 3rd game.
Will you prefer co-op or playing alone?
Once that first Normal run is through, I'll prefer to do co-op as much as possible.
Thanks for presenting the opportunity for people - I know there are plenty of groups forming out there, but yours caught my interest for whatever reason. So even if you don't have room for me, I wish your group luck for doing what you set out to do :). If you have any further questions, just let me know!

Good idea, I had it myself but wan't really sure whether it's all go from the rest of the membership especially since were not really a clan persay.
However, I do support this on a voluntary donation basis in terms of gold, plans, PoT's etc... actually, still up in the air about what to do with the rarer plans (set plans and the like) but that, i suspect, is a long way off.

False. Characters are region-based. You can have 10 in North America, 10 EU, 10 SEA, etc. No matter what region you play in, the RMAH is tied to your local economy.
