Alright, so me and Infinitum are planning our asses off, and we've hit a roadblock.
We've realized that you guys may not actually like what we have planned.
SO, instead of planning in vain, we're going to throw our suggestion down, take some from you, then make a poll later with all the collected ideas.
So what we had planned, was the aftermath of Damnation Rising (The previous RP). Essentially, this would be set in a Sanctuary where the demons have won. Heaven has been routed, and Hell is free to shit ruin all over Sanctuary. Humans are scattered and disheartened, with only several resistance groups still managing to put up a decent fight. Players would play as one such group.
So, if you like where we're taking the next RP, then say so.
But, if you've got some modifications, or completely different ideas, then throw them down.

I would love to do an RP where we are a rogue state, not controlled by heaven nor hell. We could be any race but would want to keep both heaven and hell off Sanctuary, as it would be our land, not theirs, to fight over.

We're not really a state though, since we do not have the organization to form one. However, the general jist of the RP is building back up into a formidable force to retake parts of Sanctuary, and thus re-establish human states.
We were actually debating letting people choose to be different races, since with Hell pouring into Sanctuary, everything would have to unite to keep them the fuck out. However, we hit a roadblock when we figured out that all the other races try to kill you in the games, and in the lore. Plus, if we DID end up going with Sanctuary, then if we go with their lore then there are really no other races aside from Humans that populate the world.
However, Goatmen could easily work, but as of right now they're the only race we thought possible to bring into the game as playable. Fallen wouldn't work, neither would any of the more prominent types of demon from the game: since they'd all be trying to kill us.
It's really tough to balance out with the lore and the atmosphere we're trying to create :/.

My idea was some demons and angels decided to side with us, humans, seeing that chances are we will win. A small group would meet up in the middle of a battle between the three sides and kind of ally our selves against heaven and hell. We would have to come up with a balanced character that isn't overpowered obviously. I dunno if a time when the RP takes place was set, but I figured the time for the RP to take place would be a year or so after the World Stone was shattered, enabling both heaven and hell to find Sanctuary and attempt to conquer it.
With that idea out for you to mull over, I already have a bit of a character idea right now. Also, it would be kickass if I could have a feathered friend for a companion, like I did in another RP where I had a genetically engineered scorpion. Oh, when you said this...

Hmm, the part about angels siding with us would mesh quite well with the story, actually. Not entirely sure about demons, perhaps some remnants of Namphiel's forces that have nowhere else to go.

The RP takes place after the worldstone is shattered, and after Hell has routed the Heavens. They've basically got free reign of Sanctuary right now, and humans are on the brink of destruction. So I'd say about 5 or so years after the shattering of the World Stone.

I'd love to try. Haven't RP'd in a bit, and sounds like an interesting RP. I have an idea for a character already, athough sadly I think Lt.Venom just took it (having a Hawk and all...).
Also, I have not RP'd your Damnation Rising, nor have I read any of it. So forgive me on that point. Another thing - do you guys know where we all start (assuming we all start together?) - personally I think we should either start in the Eastern Jungles - or end there. That seems to be the most important part of Sanctuary, in almost every storyline (aside from Arreat).
Another point: Maybe there may be some animal-taming mortals left, and Venom and I are both apart of said clan? I'll have to mull over what I want!

Though, we have the starting conditions figured out, and yes we'll be starting together.
By the way, instead of doing a single gigantic RP, we're going to be doing a series of smaller RP's.
This way, interest won't die off as easily due to absurdly long storylines.
But at the same time, we'll be able to make subsequent RP's if players are still on board.
Also by the way, we'll be using demons, angels (weakened versions of what are found in Heaven/Hell, of course), goatmen, and humans as playable races. So if you've got an idea, start mulling it over, but don't finalize anything till we release the character sheet, since it's going to be different than what is normally used (it's going to be similar to the Damnation Rising sheet, though).
For anyone who wasn't in the Damnation Rising RP (or who didn't follow it, or who didn't finish it, which was actually all of us), here's a synopsis of how the story was going to play out, these are my finalized notes on the story.
Players will be summoned from the abyss by the demon lord Namphiel, and enlisted to help in the eternal war against heaven. The players will agree to help since through helping, they will be allowed entrance to the mortal world. Players will be prepared for summoning by Basoriel, the right hand man of Namphiel. The summoning will involve the players being transported from hell, into the bodies of human prisoners by demonic cults. Once summoned, the players will be merged with their hosts, and will have total control over them. Players will be able to freely change from demon to human form.
Once in sanctuary, players will need to secure more bodies for demons to be summoned into. They will leave the safety of the cultist hideout, and quickly be met with a patrol of soldiers. Players will murder them, and then find out what town they came from. Players will then travel to the town of Taedium, and will have to weaken their defenses so that the lesser demons (Fallen Ones), may surge in and take prisoners. This will involve shit like systematically killing the guardsmen, sealing gates, or even removing the police force from the town, thus leading to rioting and disorder. However it works out, the town will eventually be overrun, and bodies will be secured for the forces of hell.
However, this will draw the attention of Heaven, who will then try to secure their own forces for the coming conflict. Angels will be sent to intervene with the transport of prisoners, and players will have to fight them off as prisoners are taken to the cult. They will defeat the angels, and will then interrogate them, even corrupt them to serve as host bodies for especially powerful demons. During interrogation, a particularily weak minded angel named Lizua will reveal a grand conspiracy occurring…
Namphiel was securing forces not to aid Hell, but to aid Heaven. This is because he wishes to take control of Hell for himself. Heaven, knowing that they cannot wipe out Hell entirely, feels safer with putting a pawn ruler in place so that they call the shots. Should Namphiel revolt against them, they can simply reveal that he worked against Hell the whole time, and then demons would rape him. He would become loyal to gain rule, and stay loyal to Heaven to keep his rule over Hell. Arasal, the angel designated to watch over this scheme, sent the angels to intervene with the transport so that it would appear as if Namphiel was fighting against Heaven. It was planned that the angels would kill the demons, and the prisoners would still be led to the cultists, however, they underestimated the players. They captured the angels, and thus, this grand scheme was revealed.
With this knowledge, players will travel back to Hell, confront Namphiel, and kill him. With the traitor dead, Basoriel will take control of his legions, and send word to the other demon lords of what transpired. Hell will unite, and will take Heaven by storm with the knowledge gained from Lizua. Hell will then be free to take Sanctuary as their own, however this will not be played out in the RP, it will be reserved for the next (if it even gets that far).

Yeah I was going to suggest something along those lines as well. We wouldn't want to keep this moving too fast though, we have seen the outcome from that...
Though, the last one collapsed mostly from a timing issue, nobody was into it after those 2-3 weeks of march break.
Anywho, working on the character sheet right now, gonna be slapping together separate ones for each race, so this will take a fuck of a long time (probably next weekend it'll all be ready, no promises though).

If demons are overtaking Sanctuary well then Im sure Trag'Oul and the necromancer's are fighting like hell to keep the balance in check. Perhaps we could be the necromancer's trying to keep the Balance. Although I liked us being demons and starting to take over Heaven.
