Ever since I got my new graphics card, I've been getting a lot of screen tearing. I have the latest drivers, tried different things in the options, but yet I still get a lot. With my old graphics card it use to be fine.
Screen tearing comes in any game whatever year made. I got VERY VERY much screen tearing in Timeshift, a little in Bioshock, none in Crysis, and then just a lot in old random games. None really in GTA San Andreas or Vice City.
New Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT
Old Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 7300 LE (I think)
Anyone have any ideas to help me out with this problem?

Use V-Sync in games that allow it, but apart from that, for old games, you are screwed. Some VC's have tearing some don't, I dunno what it really is, I have a lot...
@Equinox - I know about and have used V-Sync. Hardly a difference
@Sofawall - I even said in my post it doesn't matter the year of the game.
@AlphaX - what's RAM memory? do you mean how mand MB of RAM I got? In that case, 2000 - what's GFX?

Seemed to be mostly semi-recent games that gave you less trouble, and the "random old games" getting stomped.
Oh, and he's a computer noob like me, abbreviations won't work.
VERY VERY much screen tearing in Timeshift. See that part? That's a 2007 game too. And like Im not kidding its unbearable in TImeshift not playable at all. Most by far.

AlphaX: Nevermind, if you have 2GB than what I was thinking is wrong. Graphics (GFX) doesn't matter.
I have the exact same graphics card and I have 2 Gb of RAM, but I don't have any problems. What do you mean that could be what was wrong?
@ChaosDragon - I haven't got Timeshift man but I have got the same GFX card as you. Mine is the 3xxMb one and I haven't had any problems with it. So it could be something else. Or a faulty card....
Lots of games don't have refresh rate options. And in games that do screen tear and have refresh rate options. changing doesn't make a difference. And it's not just Timeshift, but that IS the worst one.
My brother suggested my monitor can't handle it. He's pretty smart, so he may be right. Meh, smartest thing I've heard yet anyways. But I don't know anything. I just believe him because most of the time he's right and he can fix things no problem. And he could install my video card and power supply for me for free xD

I was asking about your MONITOR's refresh rates. OMG you are such a noob...
My normal refresh rate is 60, personally. So far there was some tearing but I never cared for it (nor do I eve use V-Sync), so I dunno. Also, if you have some old non-LCD monitor you may have a lot of weird problems.
And, you are being rude. Why make a thread and ask people for help if you are going to be rude to them?
"Meh, smartest thing I've heard yet anyways." - this pretty much says "OK, guys, my brother already told me the problem, and you are just all idiots you don't know anything you are all saying stupid things fuck you"
So, it's like, you are asking our advice and then stating you didn't really need our help. That is rude.
I'll give you some advice:
If someone (like your brother), already told you something, tell us that. Than, at least, we can think in that direction too, and prove it or disprove it.
So... I think I found the problem - maybe!
When me and my brother opened the video card, the two adapters game with it were a bit weird. One adapter was missing half of the spikeys things, and the other adapter has 3 in a row bent. They worked, but now I get screen tearing. Now, seems logical this is the problem. BUT, the one that has 3 bent in a row works a lot worse then the one missing half of the spikey things... so we can't be too sure. Could be faulty video card, or just my monitor.

If it happened everywhere I would say your computer is so old it can't handle it, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.

In fact, are you sure it's screen tearing? Sometimes it may just be a slow mid-refresh rate or something. What refresh rate are you using?

Yes I am a noob to computers, tyvm.
Ahh... lol. You be calling me rude yet you call me noob a bit before xD

everything that has been suggested I've already tried and it doesn't work, so in no way is it useful
Sorry about that.
