If your headaches persist, I would consider seeing a doctor about that. Perhaps it could be something fairly serious, thus causing insomnia as well as REM. I've never had persistent headaches or insomnia, so I'm not really sure what you are experiencing. Nevertheless, I want to make sure you are all right.
I had a nice dream today. I went through Half Life 2, except totally redone. This is the second time I have had the exact dream. Just like you must go through the canals in Half Life 2, you had to take the outskirts of the city in this one, and you drive to a bridge, but it fails. And like hobos camping under a bridge, there are zombies. Then you continue on foot and a massive golem, similar to DOG, throws stuff at you (except this time it's to kill you). Then you proceed to a massive battle, and some of the NPCS are actually other players connected through the internet. Then it just became weird and became something totally unrelated with a salesman persisting in trying to sell me an orange.

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
Oh, I love dreams. I love how they are so inconsistent, and how time and spacial perceptions are completely out, but no matter how stupid everything seems, you just accept it because your mind tells you to believe it.
like, last night, I was walking down a street at night by myself, then suddenly I noticed someone was walking along with me. "Ah yeah, thats cool, I obviously just somehow didn't see them right there next to me" lol. I keep walking with the guy, I talk to him a bit, but then I look back at him and suddenly he's 10 meters behind me. "Woops, I'd better stop so he can catch up" lol. Its just so fascinating how at the time it made perfect sense.
I need like 12 hours sleep to not feel tired, but at the same time I seem to be able to last longer than others at resisting sleep. So really, the day should be more than 24 hours, because 24 is way too short. I end up going to bed really late, and then being forced to wake up early, it really sucks. I'm pretty much tired all the time. Now see, if the day was more like 30 hours, I could get 12 hours sleep and have 18 hours to be awake.
That's the best idea I have ever heard. The world in general would be so much better if that was how shit happened.

Im def stronger, more alert, and more awake at night time (usually 11 pm-2 am)
Must be from all those years of gaming all night long. I have stopped those all night gaming sessions due to my m-f 8-5 job. usually 1 night a week on the weekends my girl goes to bed and i play games till 2-3 am. The next morning i wake up with here around 7ish feeling great. But during the week when im in bed by 11 and wake up around 7ish i feel sluggish tired and slow. Ive come to realize the less sleep i get the better i am(to a point) Anything over 8 hours and im very tired. Anything 4-6 hours and im Good to go. Ive chalked this up to the theory of the sleep cycle which goes somthing like that u sleep in cycles of 3 hours. the 3rd hour being ur deepest sleep. Depending on what cycle u wake at will affect how u feel upon waking
That's actually why I am looking into a Janitorial job of some sort. There are some companies in my area that go around and clean up the stores while they are closed. Good pay too. Plus it's at night so it's right up my alley.

I can't believe how awake I become at night. Its like, I do some artistic things and listen to music during the day, and its fine, but then when I do that exact same thing except at night I suddenly get all this energy and really waken up.
I do everything best at night. But now I sleep at night. Which sucks...

I could live with being awake at night, but because the rest of the world doesn't stay up with me it just doesn't work.
Exactly!

Oh, but I hate sleeping during the day. I don't mind taking like 3 hour naps, but I wish I didn't have to sleep. Its such a time waster!

I don't drink coffee or take any form of drug, either.
Do -NOT- get me on a pharma-rant... Actually fuck it, let Bill do it for me here.
My dad has a sleeping disorder he stays up till like 3am, and wakes up at 5:30 am, and repeats this everyday except weekends. I dont see how he gets up and works an 8 hour day and he naps just every now and then.
I get up at 6am usually stay up till like 1am. Weekends i get to sleep. But yeah with only like 5 hours of sleep i can barely get myself out of bed and my dad, i can see it in his eyes he's sleepy like all the time.

But REM's a good thing. It's the REM rebound that happens when I don't get good sleep for several days.

My mom is like this actually. I think a lot of people in their fifties (assuming your dad is about as old as my mom) tend to just work a lot and sleep a lot less. I get tired just watching my mom around the house. Always working and such.
