EVERYONE swears all the time when you do that kind of work.
Uhh, no. It's not the work. It's the people who choose to do such work. Other people do much harder things and don't swear because it's disruptive, unclear (like in your example), and generally slows things down. The only jobs where I could understand swearing as part of the job is police (debatable), army, etc. Otherwise, it's just a disruption. Wouldn't it be much clearer just to say "give me the glue"? Proper workers would do that.
You could be different. You chose not to. You are just as slow as the rest of the carpenters.

so we are just ignoring respect? just throwing it out the window?
Absolutely. That's what most swearing is. Lack of ethics and total disrespect. Sometimes lack of vocabulary. Or lack of intelligence to recollect words from memory when you can just replace every word with "fuck" and "shit".
I can tell you what. There are two types of people who want to disrespect someone. The dumb type, who only got swear words, and the intelligent type (tiny amount), who can pierce you by not swearing ever. I hate both.
Another thing - it may uncover what the person represents. If a person cusses ALL THE TIME it's not a good sign. They probably didn't go to a very good school, parents taught them nothing, and they are not someone I'd want to be around. Reason being, a person surrounded by the elitist society wouldn't cuss as much since that society wouldn't accept it. Therefore, the common cussers are mostly not from an elitist society.
Another thing is lack of content in profanity, lack of description, deadness of language. Someone who replaces every word with fuck and shit is not very good at describing anything, at explaining, etc. They also would not summon any positive feelings in the listener. Sometimes it's just not clear. Why say "give me that shit" when you can say "give me that pencil" so that I don't give you the pen and you cuss me out again? Why say "I fucked around with this guy yesterday" when that can be interpreted in so many different ways. Profanity is simply an unexact way to express oneself...
People that swear more than once a day just have a lack of inteligience / vocabulary.
Personally I hate when my friends always swear. It's not that I was brought up like that - my parents swear all the time, jokingly - but I guess I have just idolized my English teachers for some reason.
i think that there are certain situations where swearing is uncalled for. like a funeral or infornt of small children. but other than those situtations im all for it.

chaos, destruction, disorder........... my work here is done.
I've always asked myself that question. When I was little and I would use profanities, my parents would punish my ass with a smack in the mouth.
So to answer the question...it can be. Is the initial word bad? No, but the meaning and intentions it is given is. Many people get offended and some people just don't like it in general. These days, the public takes some things a lot less serious than before and some other things a lot more. I think that profanities aren't as bad as they were and people aren't so reluctant to ear them, but they're still not fully accepted by much of the populous.
Tv shows like South Park and comedians use these words and it kind of makes people less angry or surprised when they ear it afterwards. I guess in the end it's up to the individual to decide. A swear here and there isn't bad, if anything it's kind of funny and it eases the mood sometimes. As a normal society, we have to learn how to control what we say and feel at times. You can't over use words, but we can't forget them neither. Words can be a beautiful thing as much as they can be a bringer of great misery.

I like the life I lived, because I went from negative to positive.
You know very well who you are, don't let them hold you down, reach for the stars.
Thats not the problem of swearing itself, you could aswell say farting is bad because people loose their appetite when someone farts at the dinnertable. Swearing in itself ain't bad, context is absolutely everything. Also define "rebel"?
rebel- a person who resists any authority, control, or tradition.
Like I said, I'm old fashioned I guess. Certain times and places I wouldnt dream of cussing, even if the context wasnt "bad." Most of the time though its fine, but there are exceptions, its my own personal code of morals I guess.
No, i ment that a "swear" is just a form of expression, thus i don't see how you could possibly say that using a certain form of expression would somehow make you less intelligent or restricted in using a larger vocabulary.
In that case, you should have read the rest of my post. I happen to enjoy my English classes and they teach me to be grammatically proper. I'm not saying I AM grammatically proper, but I dunno. It's just my opinion that swears are for barbaric, unintelligent people. Just like its your opinion that swears are a form of expression, which IMO is an excuse.
The question must be raised. Why must this thread be an issue if not for a reason? Why does the entire population of mankind have these words separated from the norm? Because of their connotation in meaning. One might say that disregarding such comments would be wise, but in truth words mean everything and are truthfully how humankind lives. We live with words, the thing that lets us live, with each other. Thus they are important and so too their meaning can have limitless implications that directly coincide with action. Thus these "curse words" too have implications' negative ones that can and should offend because of meaning and implication

they only offend certain people not all people. I personally dont care if people cuss or not. i dont like it when its every other word but it doesnt really bother all that much. Only certain times does it bug me, which i have already said.
i love how people are saying that everyone who swears in not intelligent... its a way to relieve stress when u have to work 12/6 weeks doing hard labor. no one on the site takes offence to it or anything, and it can be amusing at times. so, in summary: go fuck yourselves

It could be. Being stressed is one of dozen factors that people feel swearing necessary.
no one on the site takes offence to it or anything, and it can be amusing at times. so, in summary: go fuck yourselves
That would depend on the context.

Meh. You only do what they teach you to do in English classes?
You "get teached" and thats it? There's no interactivity, no questioning, nothing? If so, would you describe yourself as being a "drone"? If yes then yea, can't help but say you really do know nothing then, apart from being "grammatically proper" that is, even if being grammatically proper, wich is unintelligent anyways seeing that creativity (wich imo IS what intelligence is about) couldn't give a flying shit about "rules" and infact strives to break them if they restrict expression.
How you present your creativity is pretty pertinent to intelligence. Just having creativity... Is just being creative. Or else creativity and intelligence would be synonyms.

That statement right there is being unintelligent.
