Final Fantasy 7 was the best game I ever played, and it's the first game I thought of when I read the title of this thread. It's funny because it was also the first final fantasy game I ever played. When I played it the first time through, I couldn't beat the boss. The second time though, I beat the game, but couldn't beat the Emerald or Ruby weapon. 3rd time through, i destroyed them all.
I think this game let me see how cool video games could actually be. How there could be so much more to them than just action. That game is art in a sense.
While it's hardly the most unique game I've played, the Counter-Strike series is going to stay in my mind for a while simply because of how many hours I've spent playing the games.
