I'm actually just left wondering what an MMO should look like. To me, Diablo in general is not an MMO.
I think Massive multiplayer online is where a lot of people are online in the same game at the same time. (not just a 4 man group) so MO ARPG.
so as to the mobile game, I'm taking a pass here for sure. I'm just sooo not interested in gaming on a mobile device. I'm not a die hard console or pc guy I play whichever suits me best for the specific game I want to play. (or which platform allows me to play it in general given pc is not high end)
But mobile just doesn't suit me at all. It feels like a waste of time to me.
I have a game in my Nvidia Shield Tablet -- I think it's named Trine 2 or something like that. Heck, that tablet has an Nvidia Steam-like platform to play many games. Never played them.
TBH Trine is an amazing game. The original actually did remarkably well and is both simple and creative. It was fun 3-player coop on my ps3, never played it mobile though.
I'm honestly probably not going to even play this game because it's not being made for me, but there's the usual caveats of it being in very early development. They don't even have the inventory system down yet.
That said, what you show up there just looks like a mini-map from like a linear final fantasy title. Very disheartening. There's dialogue from the WoW team now and then, and other MMOs, about developing a true open world and just building a world designed to push players through sight-seeing tunnels. The latter is usually lacking in replayability.
